      About Alberta Family Home

Alberta Family Home, also known as ALBERTA FAMILY HOME CARE, INC., was a family-run care home in Miami that helped seniors with daily needs and aimed to make life easier for both residents and their families, and even though it shut down in 2016, people who lived there got support with things like meals, housekeeping, laundry, and medical care, and you saw a lot of effort to provide safe, home-like spaces like private or semi-private rooms with wheelchair-accessible showers and private bathrooms, so seniors could live as independently as possible in a place that tried to keep things calm and quiet while still letting folks enjoy city perks nearby. The staff handled memory care for residents with Alzheimer's or dementia and gave a lot of thought to reducing confusion and wandering by organizing the home and activities to fit each person's needs, and sometimes they had activity programs right on-site and in the community to keep people busy, engaged, and social, plus off-site trips and both indoor and outdoor gathering areas for fresh air or group time. There were extras such as vegetarian meal options, diabetic and incontinence care, help with medication, and even pet-friendliness with some services related to pet care and walking, and families sometimes relied on Alberta Family Home to find help for their loved ones, especially for long-term care needs, memory support, or even just someone to sit with or assist with errands. The home focused on giving seniors choices like studio, single, double, or semi-private bedrooms with bright windows, carpeting, safety bars, and enough space to feel comfortable, and seniors could use transportation services for appointments, get help with bathing or dressing, and sometimes had respite care or companion care when family needed a break. The aim was to foster close-knit bonds between residents and caregivers and support independence with plenty of personalized care, and the staff worked to be sure meals were nutritious and that residents felt at home while the facility tried to keep everything running smoothly in line with Florida licensing rules until it was dissolved in 2016, so although the facility is no longer active, it once covered a wide range of care services-like assisted living, memory care, nursing, adult daycare, and even support for children-by offering daily assistance, medical supervision, and a friendly place to live in Miami.
