      Warm, caring staff; highly recommended

My mother stayed here and I felt relieved - the staff are warm, patient and truly caring, the home is clean, smells pleasant and feels like home. They follow doctors' orders, give daily help, notice serious issues quickly and arranged a fast hospital transfer when needed. There are nice events (Christmas, BBQ, Saturday movies, Sunday pizza, music/dancing), but activities beyond Bible study are limited; food is generally nice though variety and portions can be lacking. Staffing can be thin at times, yet the team goes above and beyond, communicates clearly, and I highly recommend this compassionate, safe place.

      About A Compassionate Assisted Living

A Compassionate Assisted Living sits in a quiet neighborhood in DeSoto, Texas, where the staff puts kindness and understanding first, and the place is small enough, with only 16 beds, so everyone has the chance to get real attention and support. The facility runs as a residential care home with both private and semi-private rooms, handy kitchenettes in some units, clean spaces, air conditioning, and even wheelchair accessible showers, so seniors with different needs can find something that fits their situation. Meals arrive fresh every day, and folks get choices like vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, organic, low sodium, and diabetic options, while anytime dining and room service are available for those who don't want a set meal schedule.

For daily life, there's a fair bit to do - from Forever Fit stretching classes and art lessons to trivia games, book clubs, and even karaoke or musical shows, with outings or day trips planned now and then, so the community stays lively. Residents can join social events, BBQs, birthday parties, and holiday get-togethers, and the common rooms-movie area, piano or organ, game room, library, and a big fireplace-give them plenty of places to relax or chat with friends. Outside, there's a patio and other areas for fresh air, where outdoor smoking is also allowed. Internet is included throughout the facility, so people can keep in touch with family or follow their own interests online.

The staff helps with daily needs like grocery shopping, laundry, housekeeping, medication management, and more complex care such as diabetic support, incontinence, high acuity care, and memory care, with special secured areas for those with memory impairments. There's also an on-site nurse to monitor things like blood sugar and round-the-clock support from a friendly and trained team. Spiritual needs are met with devotionals, Bible study, visiting chaplains, and a variety of religious services for different faiths, both on-site and off-site, which some families find comforting. The activity program, called Live Well, includes lifelong learning with speakers, art classes, and intergenerational events, and there's always something on the calendar to keep people engaged.

Families can come in to speak with a senior living advisor to discuss what their loved one needs, and the leadership takes the time to guide them through decisions about long-term care. The atmosphere is warm and open, with both indoor and outdoor gathering spaces, so residents can build friendships, and the whole place carries a sense of home, not just a facility. The property keeps high standards for cleanliness, and every resident's plan looks at individual needs. A Compassionate Assisted Living earns high marks from families, and though it has several locations across DeSoto, Dallas, and Lancaster, the feeling stays small and caring. There's flexibility for short term or respite stays, and pricing or room details come by request, as every situation can be a little different. The place is licensed, certified, and open most days from early morning until the evening, so families can visit or call when it works for them.
