    Compassionate staff and immaculate home

I'm pleased with the compassionate, professional staff-gentle, easy to talk with, and my family member seems comfortable. The home is immaculate and welcoming: attractively decorated rooms, a covered back patio and flowered porch for fresh air, and meals that are healthy and smell great. Care feels attentive with a good caregiver-to-resident ratio. Overall a warm, homelike place I recommend.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive. Multiple reviewers highlight a warm, welcoming, and homelike atmosphere where residents seem comfortable and well cared for. Cleanliness is repeatedly mentioned (described as "very clean" and "immaculate"), and the facility is portrayed as attractively decorated with rooms that feel homelike rather than institutional. The tone of the reviews is one of satisfaction and comfort for most family members and visitors.

Staff and care quality are central positive themes. Reviewers consistently call staff gentle, caring, loving, compassionate and professional. Several comments emphasize that staff are easy to talk with, which suggests accessible communication and a responsive team. The caregiver-to-resident ratio is noted as favorable, and reviewers describe the overall quality of care as good. These recurring remarks point to staff competence and attentiveness being a major strength of Greenwood Home Care.

Facilities and outdoor space are another frequently praised area. The facility is described as having an outdoor porch and a covered back patio with flowers and landscaping that provide fresh air and a pleasant outdoor environment. Interior spaces are described as attractively decorated and homelike, reinforcing the overall impression of a comfortable living environment rather than a clinical setting.

Dining and nutrition receive positive mention as well: meals are described as smelling really good and as tasty and healthy. That specific sensory detail supports the broader statements about quality of food and nutrition, which is an important daily experience for residents and a meaningful plus in the reviews.

The primary negative or cautious note in the reviews is limited but important: at least one reviewer expressed concern about whether the level of care would be adequate for their mother's needs. This is the only notable concern appearing in the summaries provided. While most reviewers report good quality care and a favorable caregiver-to-resident ratio, this isolated concern indicates that prospective families should verify that Greenwood Home Care can meet specific, potentially higher-acuity or individualized care requirements before making placement decisions.

In summary, the reviews paint Greenwood Home Care as a small, well-maintained, and welcoming facility with professional, compassionate staff, good staffing levels, pleasant dining, and attractive indoor and outdoor spaces. The dominant pattern is consistently positive across atmosphere, cleanliness, staff attitudes, and meals. The lone recurring caution relates to adequacy of care for a particular higher-need resident; it does not appear as a widespread theme but is significant for families with complex care requirements and warrants direct follow-up during touring and intake conversations.

    About Greenwood Home Care

Greenwood Home Care is a licensed assisted living facility in San Antonio, Texas, with only six beds, so things don't ever get too crowded, and you'll notice they offer both private suites and shared rooms, all fully furnished with air-conditioning, cable, telephone, and internet, and some of these apartments have kitchenettes and private bathrooms, which is nice if you like having a bit of home around you, and there's a covered back porch so folks can sit outside and look at the flowers. They help with bathing, dressing, walking, bed transfers, toileting, and eating, and they prepare meals with organic food that smells really good, plus they take care of housekeeping, linen service, and maintenance, so no one has to worry about chores or big household tasks anymore. They line up transportation for residents who have to visit the doctor or run errands, and there's a staff around 24/7 to help with both medication and daily activities, and there's always on-call help if someone needs extra support. Greenwood Home Care does memory care for dementia, and they offer skilled nursing services, hospice care, and even Medicare-certified home health, which means seniors who live here can find most kinds of support if their needs ever change, and that's true whether you just want adult day services, non-medical home care, or full long-term nursing. They say they focus on helping folks stay independent and keep their own routine while still getting proper help, and the place runs activities of all kinds-social, religious, recreational-so people can be as involved or as quiet as they want, and they encourage residents to stay engaged with the community around them. The building is clean and open, and the environment feels warm and welcoming, and you can tell the staff's gentle and caring way means a good caregiver-to-resident ratio, so people don't get overlooked or rushed. Greenwood Home Care and The Etta at Shavano Park both share this approach, with care plans that get personalized for each resident, and amenities like a 24-hour call system, meals, outings, and a nice outdoor space, and it's all maintenance-free, with no cooking, cleaning, or upkeep to worry about. The community is a Fair Housing & Equal Opportunity Provider, and their website offers an accessibility feature for easy use.
