    Warm attentive staff, renovated apartments

I've lived here for several months and couldn't be happier - the staff are warm, attentive and the place has a genuine family-like feel. Beautiful, well-maintained grounds with mature trees, fountains and roomy patios, plus renovated, spacious apartments with in-unit laundry, plentiful activities, shuttle service and freshly prepared meals. A comfortable, well-run community I readily recommend.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviewers describe a community with a strong social culture, spacious apartment options, and a well-appointed campus environment. Many families and residents emphasize a welcoming, family-like atmosphere, active programming, and clean grounds; others note that experiences vary significantly depending on current leadership and staffing. The facility presents a mix of recently refreshed areas alongside older sections, producing a range of impressions about overall upkeep.

Care and staff: Numerous comments highlight caring, attentive direct-care staff who know residents personally in this smaller community setting. Reviewers often describe staff as helpful, responsive, and respectful, and they cite specific staff members and activity leaders as strengths. At the same time, there are repeated concerns about inconsistent staffing levels, slow response times to requests for assistance, and the tone of some managers or supervisors. These operational patterns suggest generally strong resident-focused interactions in many cases, but with episodes of problematic conduct or communication that prospective families should investigate further.

Dining: Dining impressions are mixed. Several reviews praise a new kitchen, freshly prepared dinners, and specific menu improvements such as baked breads and nutritious entrées. Other reviewers report variable food quality, reliance on outsourced meal providers during kitchen transitions, and occasions when dining services are limited or absent. Meal-service continuity and the current status of the on-site kitchen appear to be important clarifying questions for prospective residents.

Activities and social life: Activity programming is a consistent strength. Reviewers cite a broad calendar that includes arts and crafts, bridge and card groups, games, movies, planned outings, holiday events, and monthly celebrations. The community appears to support both structured programming and informal social groups, contributing to residents’ sense of belonging and engagement.

Facilities and accessibility: Apartments are frequently described as spacious with full kitchens, private patios, and in-unit laundry in some layouts. Common amenities noted include a clubhouse, pool and Jacuzzi, exercise room, library, and meeting rooms. At the same time, accessibility issues are noted — for example, upstairs units and elevator designs that are not ideal for some mobility-impaired residents, removal of some accessibility equipment, and indications of ADA compliance gaps. The property shows evidence of ongoing renovations, so physical conditions may vary unit-to-unit.

Management and patterns: A notable theme is variability linked to management changes. Several accounts praise long-standing managers and recent upgrades, while others describe declines in responsiveness, prioritization of front-office improvements over operational needs, and reduced activity or transportation services following ownership transitions. There are also serious claims, including allegations of theft and financial misconduct; these are individual but significant and should prompt direct questions during evaluation. Fee clarity and transparency emerged as an additional operational concern.

Bottom line: The community offers many attributes that families seek — social programming, roomy apartments, attractive grounds, and an engaged culture — but experiences appear variable depending on leadership, staffing, and the status of dining operations. Prospective residents should schedule an in-person visit, ask for current menus and staffing ratios, confirm accessibility features for specific units, review recent maintenance and renovation timelines, and request written policies on fees and incident resolution before deciding.
