    Quiet convenient friendly well-maintained community

I appreciate the quiet, rural feel here while still being close to shopping, medical care and a Kroger within walking distance, with easy routes to Columbus. The staff are professional and attentive, maintenance is prompt (my apartment was nicely fixed up before move-in), it feels like a detached home not an institution, and there are plenty of varied activities plus a nice fitness center.

    About Burr Oak Commons

Burr Oak Commons sits on 20 acres next to the Reserve at Lantern Chase and has homes built for adults 55 and over who want independence in a quiet, social place, with prices for homes from about $2,423 to $2,672 a month depending on the floor plan, and all of the homes have thoughtful touches like attached garages, private patios or decks, big walk-in closets, open single-story layouts, private entrances, and no-step entries or showers to make moving around easier, plus details like granite countertops in chef's kitchens, vaulted ceilings up to 13 feet, wood-look flooring, and large windows so the spaces always feel bright. Burr Oak provides maintenance-free living and makes sure, through wide doors and universal design features, that everyone gets around easily, and homes have spaces like dens, pantries, linen closets, breakfast bars, laundry rooms with full-size washer and dryer connections, and even mud rooms and double vanities in some master baths, with safety add-ons like grab bars and 24-hour emergency maintenance for peace of mind. Pets are welcome, though right now there aren't any, and the grounds have places for walking or biking on trails, and a community garden with raised beds for those who want to grow vegetables or flowers, and all the landscaping is kept up so the area feels park-like with mature trees and patios.

The Commons, which is the center of the social life at Burr Oak, includes indoor and outdoor spaces for relaxing or meeting friends, with a fire pit, open kitchen, lounge, club house, billiards and bourbon lounge, co-working and business center, catering kitchen, and library, as well as Wi-Fi and high-speed internet in common areas. Residents can join a full calendar of wellness programs, group classes, community events, and travel options through Treplus Travel, and these programs help people stay active and keep a sense of connection, while fitness is made easier through a professional fitness center and both virtual and in-person fitness classes. The community does a good job offering activities like social gatherings, educational talks, games, and entertainment, so people have a reason to get together several times a week, often around the fireplace or out on the patio, and the staff keeps things organized but always aims to make it feel like home for each person, offering individual attention when needed.

Burr Oak Commons offers assisted living and support for people who need help with daily life, and there's 24-hour staff and supervision, with care plans designed for each resident, plus specialized help for those living with dementia or memory challenges through their memory care services, all in apartments that feel like regular homes, not institutions. The community uses a secure Residential Portal for things like paying rent, making maintenance requests, and booking common areas, and exclusive concierge services are available 24/7 for help with personal errands, travel, or reservations. They welcome both cats and dogs (with some pet perks under their Tre Paws program), and there's eco-friendly parking with EV charging, recycling programs, and other features to support the environment.

The apartments and amenities help residents live independently while being part of a lively, supportive neighborhood, with garage and driveway parking, guest spaces, and layouts that have plenty of light and storage. Burr Oak Commons doesn't offer meals but provides spaces and equipment for cooking and eating with friends, and the whole place aims for a safe, smoke-free setting where every person is respected. The homes suit healthy, active adults but also give extra support when needed, which makes Burr Oak Commons an option for seniors who want a bright, comfortable home and a caring community.
