    Friendly informative staff beautiful views

I toured this over-55 community up the hill by Zilber Brewery/Pabst at 9th & Juneau on Milwaukee's west side. The staff were friendly, informative and professional, residents welcoming, the facility and views are beautiful, and the service was excellent - I'm very pleased and would recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment from the review summaries is mixed but leans positive around staff, views, location, and the community feel, while raising concrete concerns about physical condition, space, and resident mix. Multiple reviewers emphasize a very favorable location—downtown Milwaukee on the west side, up the hill near Zilber Brewery/Pabst at 9th & Juneau—which produces attractive vistas and a ‘‘beautiful view’’ that several people highlighted. The property is identified as an over‑55 living option and appears to have a community of friendly residents, contributing to a pleasant social environment for some visitors and residents.

Staff and service are consistently praised. Reviews describe staff as friendly, informative, professional, and caring, and one or more summaries explicitly call out ‘‘excellent service’’ with ‘‘no complaints.’’ This pattern suggests that day‑to‑day interactions and customer service are a clear strength of Brewery Point Apartments: staff engagement and responsiveness are repeatedly noted as positives and likely a major reason for overall satisfaction among many reviewers.

At the same time, several reviewers note physical and environmental drawbacks. While the facility is also described as ‘‘beautiful,’’ there are contradictory comments that parts of the property feel run‑down. Specific complaints include tight living spaces and a generally concrete, hardscaped exterior with limited greenery. Those observations point to a split between aesthetic strengths (views, some attractive elements) and practical shortcomings (unit size, wear and tear, outdoor environment). The presence of an ‘‘upcoming project’’ mentioned in the reviews indicates there may be planned improvements or renovations, which could address some of the run‑down aspects and hardscape concerns; prospective residents should ask management for details and timelines about that project.

Resident population and suitability are additional themes. One reviewer explicitly described the population as ‘‘male‑dominated’’ and said the community was ‘‘not suitable for my mother,’’ indicating that the demographic mix and perhaps social dynamics or the level/type of support offered may not meet every prospective resident’s needs. That comment, combined with notes about tight spaces and some run‑down areas, suggests the community may not be ideal for seniors requiring more space, extensive accessibility features, or a different gender balance/social atmosphere.

Notably, the reviews do not provide direct information on dining, formal activities programming, medical or nursing care, or specific accessibility features beyond unit size and surroundings. That absence is important: while staff quality and neighborhood are well documented, potential residents should request details about on‑site services, activity schedules, healthcare support, and unit floor plans when evaluating the property.

In summary, Brewery Point Apartments appears to offer strong advantages in staff quality, resident friendliness, downtown location, and scenic views, with an age‑restricted over‑55 positioning and an upcoming project suggesting potential improvements. Counterbalancing those strengths are concerns about areas of the facility being run‑down, small/tight living spaces, a predominantly concrete environment, and a resident mix that some find unsuitable. Prospective residents should tour units in person, ask for specifics about the planned renovations, verify accessibility and unit sizes, and inquire about the resident demographic and available care or activities to determine fit.

    About Brewery Point Apartments

Brewery Point Apartments provides senior apartments for adults who want to stay active and keep to a budget, and the homes have small touches that make life safer and easier like senior-friendly bathrooms and wheelchair accessible showers, while every apartment has washer and dryer units, central air, and cable TV hookups, so you don't have to go far to do laundry or stay comfortable. The building's got heated underground parking, controlled access entry, and there's extra storage spaces for residents who need them, plus smoke-free housing for those who want a clean space. Dogs and cats are welcome, with some breed and weight restrictions, and there's common areas like a community room with a kitchen, community patio, and a fitness center, so you can meet neighbors or join in on activities if you'd like, and a computer lab and media center with internet where you can go online. Trained staff are around to help with daily needs, such as bathing, dressing, or managing medicines, and the maintenance and security services keep things in good shape and add peace of mind. Residents have a wide schedule of social, educational, and entertaining activities to choose from, and there are beautician services in the hair salon for folks who want them. The apartments come in one-bedroom or two-bedroom sizes-with the one-bedrooms at 640 square feet and the two-bedrooms at 885 square feet-and people can pick between affordable or market rate rent options. The building holds a sense of history, with a classic tavern that serves local and German beers, plus a gift shop selling Pabst family brands merchandise, and there's a café for coffee and coffee cocktails, settings for private events and beer history tours, and residents have the chance to join in the award-winning venue's activities any day. All in all, Brewery Point Apartments offers mature adults a space where you can stay as independent as possible, with help available if you need it, and a community where people tend to share the same stage of life.
