    Excellent coordinated care and rehab

I was pleased with the teamwork and nursing - PT and OT were excellent, offering three-times-a-day rehab that sped rebuilding and made a painful recovery much more manageable. When my mother couldn't handle that intensity, staff quickly arranged a transfer to a better-fit rehab, which worked out great. Attentive, coordinated care and strong rehab results; I recommend this facility.

    About Banner Health Arizona

Banner Health Arizona is a nonprofit health system that's served the east valley for over 30 years, and everywhere you look throughout its facilities, you'll see staff, nurses, and doctors working together to give specialized care to patients with many kinds of health needs, whether it's in their main hospital at Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa or their Banner Children's at Desert for younger folks, and they've also got other places like the Banner Health Center Plus, and a Banner Surgery Center in Peoria that handles a lot of outpatient procedures. The main hospital runs 24/7, set up with a large emergency department, about 342 beds, and services as a primary stroke center, with teams who help stroke patients right away, and you'll find trained people for joint replacements and orthopedics, too, and the orthopedic unit there's actually recognized as one of the Top 100 Orthopedic Programs in the country. Folks can also get care for many conditions like cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart issues, lung problems, and pain management, and there's a focus on easy access for most common needs, so besides big hospital care you'll find outpatient surgery, urgent care with short waits for broken bones or fevers, home care, palliative care, and even hospice services when people need comfort at home.

Everything operates with simple routines-you can get imaging and lab tests, pick up medicine at their pharmacies, visit family from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., use wheelchairs and accessible parking, and wait in rooms where staff speak several languages including Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin, Hindi, and a few more, which helps people feel comfortable. There's a real team approach, so doctors talk with patients and families and help them decide on things together, and people can pay bills in reasonable ways, with lots of insurance accepted, no cash in most places, but cards and checks are fine. Women get screening tests like mammograms, bone scans, and ultrasounds through skilled technologists at the Banner Baywood Women's Center, with direct scheduling and short waiting times, and if you need a quick meal or a small gift, there's a cafeteria, vending machines, and a gift shop as well as an ATM in the main lobby. People with urgent needs can always find help in the 24-hour emergency room or go to one of the many urgent care centers scattered around, where they'll treat most minor injuries or illnesses. There are also programs for rehab, lung tests, kidney care, urology, nutrition, and there's always people around who know about treating things like anxiety, sleep apnea, and depression if someone's struggling in those ways. Banner Health Arizona is one of the bigger nonprofit health systems in the country, employs more than 10,000 people, and is linked to the broader Banner Health network that takes care of people all over Arizona. You'll find outdoor seating areas to get fresh air, decent parking for visitors, and they're always set up to make healthcare easier when people come through the doors.
