    About Dakota Alpha

Dakota Alpha sits in western North Dakota and helps people with disabilities, including adults who need skilled nursing care, memory care, and rehabilitation after a brain injury. The place runs with a 24-hour call system, so someone's around to help at any time, and residents get supervision day and night. Staff give hands-on help with daily activities, bathing, dressing, or any personal care, and there's medication management and full medical supervision included. Private and shared rooms come fully furnished and have their own bathrooms; you also get air-conditioning, a phone, internet, cable TV, and Wi-Fi in each room. Meals get prepared and served every day, and housekeeping plus laundry and linens are all part of the routine.

Dakota Alpha's well-protected spaces help keep everyone safe, especially for those who might wander, and they offer transportation help too, so getting to appointments goes more smoothly. Programs at Dakota Alpha cover a lot, including residential and day services for people with intellectual disabilities, life skills programs, and transitional services that help residents move to more independent or less independent settings based on how they're doing and the support available when they're ready to leave. They have a 20-bed skilled nursing unit focused on adult brain injuries and disabilities, with specialized therapy like physical, occupational, and speech therapy as well as social services.

Children get support here too, through day services, employment help, and early intervention programs. The staff coordinate care with healthcare providers, and the activity schedule gives everyone a chance to join in social or recreational programs. For folks at the end of life, hospice care is available, and people who want to stay home might use home health or home care services through Dakota Alpha. The whole approach is person-centered, with dignity, respect, and personal goal-setting built in. Dakota Alpha works alongside Dakota Pointe, and there are support and referral services for anyone who needs extra help.
