    Compassionate skilled care with monitoring

I'm very pleased with the compassionate, attentive staff and experienced administration at this clean, welcoming facility. Outstanding skilled nursing, excellent physical and respiratory therapy (including 24/7 AI-enabled monitoring and two RTs per shift) gave our family real peace of mind - therapists and CNAs were approachable and responsive, and leadership was warm and involved. I would recommend this facility for thoughtful, trustworthy care.

    Summary of reviews

The collection of reviews describes a facility with a mix of clear strengths and substantial operational weaknesses. On the positive side, families and some clinical sources highlight compassionate caregivers, visible and experienced leadership, and strong rehabilitative services. Physical and occupational therapy receive consistent praise for producing good outcomes, and one set of comments emphasizes advanced respiratory care staffing and realโ€‘time monitoring technology. Several reviewers also noted a welcoming executive director, family-inclusive practices, hospice availability, and generally wellโ€‘kept public spaces that create a warm first impression.

Care quality and staffing present a divided picture. Positive accounts describe attentive nurses and aides who provide comforting, handsโ€‘on care. Conversely, there are frequent concerns about inconsistent responsiveness to call bells, delays in attending to basic needs, and evidence of nursing understaffing that contributes to prolonged waits for assistance. Related operational weaknesses include inconsistent bathing and incontinenceโ€‘care procedures, lapses in skin checks and repositioning that raise pressureโ€‘injury risk, and problems with medication documentation and timely administration.

Facility condition and logistics are another area of disparity. Some visitors and family members describe clean, wellโ€‘maintained common areas and shiny floors; multiple others describe sanitation and maintenance inconsistencies in resident rooms and bathrooms, including moistureโ€‘related damage. Reviews also raise issues with laundry services and personalโ€‘linen management, small or crowded room layouts (including shared rooms and limited space for equipment), and instances where room photos did not match the onโ€‘site conditions. Meal service earns mixed comments โ€” staff sometimes accommodate preferences, but there are repeated notes about inconsistent food quality and missed dietary/allergy considerations.

Management, communication, and administrative processes show similar contrasts. On the positive side, leadership visibility and onโ€‘site manager engagement are cited as reassuring. However, recurring concerns include poor communication about transfers and discharges, records not matching actual status changes, and billing or refund delays. Some reviewers perceive administrative priorities as being driven by occupancy rather than individualized care. These operational gaps compound clinical concerns when families are trying to arrange transitions or follow up on care issues.

Notable patterns for prospective residents and families: the facility can deliver high-quality rehabilitative and respiratory care and may provide a supportive, familyโ€‘oriented environment when staffing and management align. At the same time, there are repeat themes of inconsistent staffing levels, lapses in routine nursing processes (bathing, repositioning, medication documentation), and intermittent maintenance and laundry failures. These patterns suggest variability in dayโ€‘toโ€‘day reliability across units or shifts.

When evaluating this facility in person, consider asking targeted questions about current staffing ratios and callโ€‘response metrics, skinโ€‘inspection and repositioning protocols, medicationโ€‘administration and documentation practices, laundry turnaround and roomโ€‘maintenance procedures, and the facilityโ€™s process for discharge coordination and billing resolution. A direct tour of the specific unit and room, verification of therapy and respiratory staffing levels, and discussion with the onโ€‘site leadership about how they address the concerns above will help clarify whether this community fits an individual residentโ€™s needs.

    About Embassy of Pickerington

Embassy of Pickerington sits amongst golf courses and metro parks on the Hill Road strip and has 89 certified beds, offering private and semi-private rooms for its average of 69 residents a day, now the facility operates as part of Embassy Healthcare and serves a wide range of needs including short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, adult day care, assisted living, independent living, skilled nursing, and memory care such as specialized Alzheimer's and dementia care; their medical team comes made up of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nursing assistants who give cardiac, diabetes, orthopedic, wound, and pulmonary care, and the pulmonary care program's led by Dr. Mohammed Shareef, while services like therapy-including physical, speech, occupational, and outpatient-are available with wound care and subacute care options for those who need them, and peritoneal dialysis, hospice, IV therapy, nutrition, renal care, respite care, and advanced clinical offerings like ventilator care stand ready too. Housekeeping and laundry services are routine, and meal programs give one or two prepared meals each day, with activities and amenities like a library, a courtyard with flat walking surfaces, parking for visitors, a 24-hour security system, and transportation services, all aiming for a home-like atmosphere and helping residents stay as active as they wish. Their nurse turnover rate is lower than the state average, and nurse staffing levels are higher than what you'd find elsewhere, but even with all that, inspection reports have shown 35 deficiencies, with five involving infection control standards and others covering medical record management and care of pressure ulcers, including four deficiencies in a recent December 2024 complaint report-so while there's a lot of proactive programs like the wound care initiative, families should note these quality concerns, which are clearly documented. The community supports both people staying short term for rehab and those needing longer-term care, and there's always an effort to help everyone reach their best potential, but it's a good plan to carefully review reports and see if the environment and services match the needs a loved one might have. The facility's address is 25201 Chagrin Blvd Suite 190, Beachwood, OH 44122, and the mix of programs, from memory care to adult day services, stands out for the range of help provided even as improvements in some areas remain needed.
