    Attentive care, pleasant facility, affordable

I placed my grandfather in the Alzheimer's unit and overall I'm very pleased. The staff are sweet and caring, with attentive hourly checks, a 24-hour nurse, and reliable medication management. We liked the one-room suite, screened-in porch and courtyard, and family visits were always welcomed - the location was a true blessing and the price worked for us. Meals were decent and there are regular activities like bingo and arts & crafts.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews indicate a mixed picture of Cherokee Village Assisted Living Center that prospective residents and families should weigh carefully. Strengths that recur include a convenient location and basic accommodations such as one-room suites. The facility offers on-site dining, outdoor common areas (screened-in porch and courtyard), and scheduled social activities like bingo and arts-and-crafts, which families found useful for engagement. Operational supports cited as positive are hourly checks, 24-hour nurse coverage, and medication-management services, and there is a dedicated Alzheimer's unit that some families experienced as beneficial.

Staff interactions are described positively by multiple families; caregivers were characterized as caring and welcoming, and family visitation was portrayed as meaningful. These accounts suggest the community can provide a family-oriented atmosphere and personal attention for many residents. The availability of hourly rounds and around-the-clock nursing suggests an intent to maintain clinical oversight.

However, several substantive concerns appear across reviews and should be considered as potential facility-level risks. There are repeated comments pointing to inconsistent nursing and clinical-care quality, which indicates variability in how care standards are applied across shifts or residents. Dining quality is likewise inconsistent: while some residents were satisfied with meals, others criticized menu choices and meal preparation. Cost and billing practices are another prominent theme—comments emphasize perceived high fees relative to other facilities and the presence of extra, pharmacy-related monthly charges; these point to a need for prospective families to request clear, itemized pricing and contract language.

Management and administrative practices are a notable area of concern. Some reviews raise questions about transparency in business practices and oversight by the owner/administrator; there are allegations of questionable administrative conduct that have eroded trust for certain families. Taken together, the pattern of mixed clinical experiences, uneven dining satisfaction, and concerns about billing and management transparency suggests that families should perform detailed due diligence: tour the unit, ask for documentation of staffing levels and clinical oversight, review sample menus, and obtain a fully itemized cost breakdown before making a placement decision.
