    Warm, caring Alzheimer's assisted living

I placed my mom here and have been very pleased with the caring, professional staff who know residents' names and provide attentive Alzheimer's and assisted-care support. The food is delicious, activities (bingo, exercise, church groups) and transportation options keep her engaged, and the two-room apartment plus beautiful grounds give us real peace of mind. Overall it's a very good, well-run community with a warm, family atmosphere.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Renaissance Marquis presents as a community with many strengths in hospitality, communal life, and memory-care security, balanced by operational inconsistencies that prospective residents and families should evaluate in person. Praise across accounts centers on staff demeanor and resident relationships, a pleasant physical environment, and organized recreational and spiritual programming. However, recurring operational concerns—especially around assisted-living cleanliness, communication and billing, and service continuity—appear often enough that families should ask targeted questions during tours.

Care and staff: The facility receives frequent positive comments about caring, professional, and knowledgeable staff who build relationships with residents and provide proactive communication around hospital visits and device assistance. Memory-care services are generally viewed as secure and effective, with specific notes about wandering-prevention measures and improvements for residents with Alzheimer’s. At the same time, reviewers describe variability in assisted-living care quality and express concerns that staffing instability or compensation pressures have at times degraded service continuity. There are also isolated concerns about front-desk professionalism and security-staff conduct; families should clarify staffing levels, supervision, and staff turnover during follow-up conversations.

Dining and activities: Dining is a clear strength for many families—meals are described as satisfying, well organized, and able to meet dietary needs, with specific praise for kitchen leadership and holiday offerings. The community supports a broad range of activities (bingo, exercises, social groups, church connections, and life-enrichment programming) that contribute to a family-like atmosphere and sustained resident engagement. Note that some services, such as certain meals and laundry, may carry additional fees; prospective residents should review fee schedules and what is included in base rent.

Facilities and amenities: Physical spaces are often described as clean, airy, and well maintained, with attractive landscaping, a courtyard, paved patio, grill area, mini library, pool table, and an onsite chapel. Guest accommodations and a public kitchen for visitors are additional conveniences. Nevertheless, there are recurring sanitation or odor concerns in particular areas and inconsistent cleanliness between independent and assisted units; families should inspect both common areas and sample apartments. Accessibility can be an issue in some two-room layouts that require stair navigation, and the facility’s distance from certain neighborhoods plus parking constraints may affect family visits.

Management and notable patterns: Several reviewers noted a management change and expressed hope for improvement, while others described billing and communication issues that affected trust. Long-tenured residents and staff voices emphasize a warm, engaging community culture; contrasting comments about dwindling service or a money-focused orientation suggest variability over time or between care levels. In summary, Renaissance Marquis offers many positive features—particularly around staff–resident rapport, dining, activities, and memory-care security—but prospective residents should conduct targeted inquiries about assisted-living cleanliness, staffing stability, billing practices, and unit accessibility to ensure level-of-care expectations align with current operations.
