    Caring staff, clean and comfortable

I placed my dad here and am very pleased - the staff are genuinely caring, knowledgeable, and communicative, the community is clean and home-like, and meals, activities, therapy and hospice support keep him engaged and comfortable. I'd recommend this welcoming, well-run facility.

    Summary of reviews

Big Springs Village Assisted Living and Memory Care presents as a small, well-kept community with a clearly home-like scale. Families and visitors consistently describe the facility as clean, recently renovated or in the process of upgrades, and pleasant both inside and on the grounds. The community’s affiliation with a sister campus and a nearby location are noted advantages for families seeking local placement.

Care quality and staff performance are the strongest themes. Reviewers emphasize friendly, compassionate employees and a knowledgeable nursing and caregiving team. Several comments describe active nursing oversight, regular checks, and responsive attention to resident needs, which families say has helped socialization and overall wellbeing. The community also receives positive mention for hospice support and for having an in-house therapy team to assist mobility and rehabilitation goals. Communication from the care team and management is routinely described as clear and reassuring, including helpful photo updates and pacing during pandemic-era challenges.

Dining and programming receive generally favorable but mixed remarks. The dining area is described as pleasant and meal quality is characterized as acceptable; a number of families expressed no major complaints. Activities and social programming are frequently cited as engaging and beneficial to residents’ social lives, though activity levels appear to vary by unit: some accounts describe lots of activities and strong socialization, while others note limited programming in certain areas, particularly in the memory-care unit where requests for additional snack opportunities were raised.

Operational and facility-level limitations appear consistently enough to note. Cost and billing transparency are a concern: families reported price increases and at least one uncommunicated furniture requirement, suggesting the need for clearer admissions and billing communication. Staffing consistency is another operational theme—while many praise staff quality, some reports indicate understaffing or inconsistent coverage that affects activity frequency and daily support in parts of the community. Memory-care capacity and programming are limited for some needs, and a few families found the community not a fit for higher-acuity memory-care requirements. Additional practical infrastructure gaps were mentioned, including compact apartment sizes for those wanting more space, ongoing renovation-related disruption, and the absence of some amenities in resident rooms (for example, call-bell access and snack availability in memory care).

Overall, Big Springs Village will likely appeal to families seeking a clean, small-community environment with attentive, communicative staff and on-site therapy and hospice supports. Prospective residents and decision-makers should weigh the strong interpersonal and clinical supports against operational considerations such as pricing transparency, staffing consistency, memory-care fit, room size, and the potential for intermittent disruption during renovations. A detailed tour with specific questions about billing, staffing ratios for the desired unit, memory-care programming, room measurements, and call-bell infrastructure is advisable before placement.

    About Big Springs Village

Big Springs Village Assisted Living and Memory Care sits over in Cedartown, Georgia, and folks around Polk County know it offers a wide mix of care and support for seniors needing extra help in their lives, especially if they're facing memory issues like Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia, because there's a dedicated Memory Care program with custom routines, comfortable protected spaces, and special activities meant to engage and support residents' needs, and you'll find amenities like cozy bedrooms, common rooms, courtyards, and simple porches where residents can sit or socialize a bit and catch some fresh air. The place keeps things easy to manage, spreading all services out over a single story so no one has to fuss with elevators or stairs. People can bring their pets and enjoy pet-friendly policies in a community that tries to feel more like a family than an institution, and there are living options that include assisted living, memory care, independent living, apartments, condos, and townhomes once folks want to settle in. Daily life here carries on with staff around 24/7, with nurses, home health partners, and specialists ready to help with things like bathing, dressing, medication supervision, therapy needs-be it physical, occupational, or speech-and diverse activity programs, whether someone's more into arts and crafts or bingo, live music, exercise classes, or just sitting down with a book in a comfortable lounge. Specialty programs for socializing help people make friends, and there are group trips out to historic sites or local mountains, shopping for essentials, or heading out for some fun. There are also meal services each day, snacks available, and a beautician on hand so folks feel their best. On top of the basics-housekeeping, laundry, transportation, and personal assistance-Big Springs Village reaches further with short-term and respite care after surgery or illness, hospice support, and even companion care for those just feeling a little lonesome. For residents facing bigger health problems, there's a whole collection of targeted services wrapped up under both behavioral and physical health programs, including support for addiction, pain, cognitive needs, eating disorders, and even gender-specific and faith-based recovery centers, plus groups focused on veterans or LGBTQ+ residents. There's also dual diagnosis help, detox and sober living arrangements, and various types of inpatient and outpatient rehab, all working together to give as much comfort and as many options as possible to everyone living at Big Springs Village. The idea really comes down to looking after seniors with respect, dignity, and a good bit of patience, so they can stay independent as much as possible, get the attention they need, and fill their days in ways they find satisfying, safe, and friendly, which is what tends to matter most.
