    Kind staff excellent care recommended

I've had two respite stays and my aunt lives at Cloverdale Manor - the staff are kind, attentive, and treated us like family. Nurses, CNAs, therapy and wound-care teams gave excellent, compassionate care; the facility is clean, the food is delicious, and I'm very satisfied and would recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Cloverdale Manor elicits a strongly mixed picture from reviewers. Many families and residents praised the direct-care teams: nursing staff and CNAs are frequently described as compassionate, attentive, and personable, with several remarks that staff treated residents like family. Clinical services that drew consistent positive mention include wound care and therapy; reviewers noted effective interdisciplinary collaboration and successful respite-stay experiences. The facility environment and dining received favorable comments as well — the building is generally described as clean and well-maintained, and meals are often characterized as high quality and enjoyable.

Counterbalancing these strengths are repeated operational concerns that affect clinical safety and family confidence. Several families described cases in which discharge planning and post-discharge follow-up appeared inadequate, sometimes culminating in rehospitalization. Related themes include deficiencies in clinical monitoring and escalation for changing medical conditions and variability in care quality between shifts or departments. Reviewers also raised concerns about staffing levels and workload, which they linked to task-oriented care and slower responsiveness at times. A smaller number of accounts described problematic staff conduct or tone; these accounts, while not the dominant narrative, indicate inconsistent resident experience.

Management and financial issues emerged as additional patterns. Some families reported a substantial financial burden and expressed a desire for clearer billing and cost-expectation communication prior to and during a stay. Communication gaps around care transitions and clinical incidents were also mentioned, suggesting opportunities for more proactive family outreach and clearer escalation pathways.

For prospective residents and families: Cloverdale Manor appears to offer strong hands-on nursing, CNA support, wound care, and therapy services within a clean, pleasant environment with well-regarded dining. At the same time, ask targeted questions about discharge planning, clinical-monitoring protocols, staffing ratios, and how the team escalates changes in condition. Request copies of financial policies and typical out-of-pocket estimates, and meet the nursing leadership and wound/therapy teams to confirm that the facility’s strengths align with your loved one’s clinical needs.
