    Peaceful attentive small home care

I placed my mom in this beautiful, well-established small home and we're very pleased. Certified, live-in caregivers (three on duty 24/7), owner involvement, on-site doctor/RN and weekday home-health teams give me peace of mind, and the strict med plan is followed. Home-cooked meals (three meals + snacks), exercise, outings and regular entertainment have improved her appetite and quality of life; the house is clean, accessible, near a park with a large backyard/patio, and family visits are always welcome.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Leisure Living for the Elderly is presented as a small, homelike residential option with an emphasis on personalized, around‑the‑clock caregiving. Most commentary highlights a clean, well‑maintained environment, active owner involvement, and a compact household model (maximum eight residents) that supports close staff–resident relationships. Several families described improved quality of life for their relatives after placement.

Care and staff: Reviewers emphasize continuous caregiver coverage and certified staff, supplemented by an on‑call registered nurse and access to a physician. In addition, visiting nurses and weekday home‑health teams provide supplementary clinical support. Families describe staff as approachable and easy to work with; an initial transition period was noted by some but was characterized as resolved in later accounts. Medication administration is described as structured, and ancillary clinical services such as monthly dental visits were mentioned.

Dining and nutrition: Dining is a prominent positive: home‑cooked meals served three times a day with snacks, variety in menus, and reports of weight gain or improved nutrition for some residents. Meals are described as satisfactory and consistent with a family‑style setting.

Activities and social life: The program includes regular outings, live entertainment (for example, a guitar player), exercise classes, and opportunities for residents to take on helpful roles. Family participation is encouraged and visitation is described as open. That said, reviewers noted limited visibility of a formal activities calendar or posted schedule, which could make it harder for prospective residents and families to evaluate the day‑to‑day program in advance.

Facilities and environment: The facility is described as roomy in shared common areas (large great room with recliners), with a sizable backyard and patio and proximity to a neighborhood park. Bathrooms are equipped with accessibility features such as shower seats, raised toilets, and handheld shower heads. A small number of comments describe some rooms or areas as darker or having a subdued ambience; prospective visitors should assess lighting and décor during a tour. Emergency procedures are posted and visible.

Management and notable patterns: Owner involvement and an engaged management style are consistent themes, and families report responsive communication in many cases. The small size supports individualized attention but also means limited capacity, which can constrain roommate choice and program diversity. Some clinical services appear concentrated on weekdays, so families should confirm after‑hours and weekend coverage for specific therapies or services if required.

Recommendation considerations: Leisure Living appears well suited for individuals and families seeking a small, family‑style setting with consistent caregiver presence, home‑cooked meals, and an active social program. Visitors should evaluate room size and lighting, clarify the activity schedule and documentation, and confirm the availability of any specific clinical services needed on weekends or evenings before making a placement decision.
