    Attentive staff and excellent amenities

I moved my mom here and I'm very pleased. Staff are attentive and caring, management is responsive, and the community is clean and well-maintained with gardens, a movie theater, salon and plenty of activities; meals from an on-site chef, three meals/day, snacks and accommodations are reliable. With 24/7 nursing/therapy support, laundry/housekeeping, transportation and a welcoming atmosphere, my mom is happy and social - I confidently recommend this community.

    Summary of reviews

Pennington Gardens presents as a small, well-maintained community with a strong hospitality orientation. Dining is a clear strength: an on-site chef, a formal dining room, three meals daily with snacks and frequent social food events (happy hour, ice cream socials, holiday luncheons), and dessert served at main meals create a restaurant-style experience. Families frequently describe meals as tasty and visually appealing, and the staff is able to accommodate special diets such as gluten-free options. A few comments reflect that therapeutic or renal diets can feel limited in variety.

Clinical care capability is mixed. The campus maintains licensed nursing coverage and has an on-call house physician, an LPN on site, CNAs/patient-care technicians, and an active care coordinator and therapy/rehab gym; reviewers cite successful rehab outcomes and prompt clinical responses. However, the facility operates with a finite scope of acuity: residents who decline beyond the community’s care level may need to transition elsewhere, and memory-care availability carries additional cost considerations.

Staffing and management show both strengths and variability. Many families praise caring, helpful, long-tenured staff members and note responsive communication and smooth move-ins. Conversely, several reviews describe periods of higher turnover or leadership transition that temporarily affected service continuity, as well as uneven management communication during those periods. Overall staff conduct is described as compassionate and engaged, with named caregivers and administrators receiving praise, but operational consistency can fluctuate.

Activities and social life are well-developed and geared toward social engagement: an activity director runs card games, bingo, Wii bowling, painting, outings, and movie screenings, and there are on-site amenities such as a salon, library, and movie theater. The grounds, courtyards, and gazebo are highlights for outdoor enjoyment. Some reviewers wished for more physically demanding exercise programs and noted low participation in particular activity rooms, suggesting that programming intensity and resident engagement vary by cohort.

Facility infrastructure and move-in logistics are generally positive. Apartments are described as clean, airy, and in many cases spacious with comfortable layouts; services include laundry, light housekeeping, trash pickup, and secure after-hours access. A subset of families, however, experienced discrepancies between advertised floor plans and actual unit layouts, or found certain rooms smaller than expected. Price/value perceptions vary: while many families consider the offering worth the cost, others view the community as relatively expensive.

Notable patterns for prospective residents and families: Pennington Gardens excels at dining, social programming, and providing a comfortable, amenity-rich environment with clinical supports for typical assisted-living needs. Prospective residents with higher or progressing clinical acuity should clarify the facility’s limits of care and memory-care costs. Ask directly about current staffing stability, on-site clinical coverage, the specifics of the unit floor plan you will occupy, and the schedule of physical-exercise programming to ensure the community aligns with your clinical and lifestyle priorities.

    About Pennington Gardens

Pennington Gardens sits as a licensed assisted living community with a license number AL12107C and a current license status, holding a capacity for 90 residents and operating from February 3, 2022, until February 2, 2025, and you'll find different types of accommodations like one-bedroom, studio, two-bedroom, shared, and another type of studio unit with rates starting at $3,595 up to $5,500 each month, and they've got nurses or medical doctors working on-site, looking after people's care and overseeing medication management, with dedicated staff, so residents and families don't have to worry about daily needs, which gives families a bit of calm knowing someone's paying attention. The building has stairs as part of its design, and outside you'll see backyard and courtyard gardens, areas with seating for birdwatching, and some spots outside just to relax, not to mention there's a piano and a grand dining space where folks can gather, and the community welcomes pets, offers WiFi all through the building, and keeps things accessible if someone uses a wheelchair or has trouble moving around. It's a continuing care retirement community where older adults can find independent living, assisted living, and nursing home services, along with memory care support for those with Alzheimer's or dementia, and they've set up secured entries and nurturing environments to minimize wandering for memory challenges, creating safer spaces for everybody. Residents get regular help from licensed care staff to manage medications, attend to housekeeping, laundry, and even enjoy a beauty salon, and their meals are prepared by chefs focused on balanced nutrition, serving up fresh dishes with an eye for quality and some homey touches like daily cookie baking, and this means people here aren't just sitting-there are plenty of activities, social programs, and ways to stay physically, mentally, and emotionally engaged, and the staff pay careful attention to individual needs, making sure to monitor changes in health, with open lines for family members, especially if someone lives far away, as consistent communication is part of their approach. Living here means access to independent and assisted living suites, with studio and two-bedroom options, plus single and shared rooms, and the community encourages connections, whether through group activities, outdoor seating, volunteer work, or just watching birds together, and their support model tries to honor each person's story, offering care that treats everyone with dignity, and their spaces have been recently renovated for comfort and warmth. Pennington Gardens says it's guided by values like goodness and loyalty, and the staff aim to show kindness and positivity, providing a place that's both welcoming and safe, with extended-family support, community involvement, and plenty of opportunities for families to be part of residents' lives without shouldering every daily responsibility, so people don't lose their ties to the outside world while still getting help tailored to whatever they might need at the time.
