    Warm caring staff, engaging activities

I moved my mom here and have been very pleased - the staff are warm, caring and professional, the activities calendar (Activity Director Dianna Hardel is outstanding) keeps residents engaged, and meals/snacks are good. The community feels safe, comfortable and close to home, and overall the building is bright and well kept. A few people noted occasional staffing/management communication and maintenance/cleanliness lapses, but our experience has been positive and I would recommend Cottonwood Village.

    About Cottonwood Village

Cottonwood Village sits on a leafy, welcoming campus where seniors can choose from studio, one-bedroom, or two-bedroom apartments, some with walk-in closets, kitchenettes, and even washers and dryers, with several options having been recently remodeled with new cabinets, appliances, and flooring, and residents can keep small cats or dogs if they want. The facility offers a mix of independent living, assisted living, memory care, and continuing care, which means people can get different types of help tailored to what they need, like help with bathing, dressing, and medication, as well as specialized memory care for those living with Alzheimer's or dementia, with around-the-clock caregivers, 24-hour call systems, and nurses available up to 16 hours a day. Residents get help with housekeeping and laundry, have their own private bathrooms, and can access weekly linen service, incontinence care, and transfer assistance, and even occupational and physical therapy right on site, and families can join community events or visit as often as they like, since family participation matters here. Folks enjoy nutritious meals in a restaurant-style dining room where experienced chefs prepare food daily, and there's room service, guest meals, and a big lounge with a TV for movie nights, plus there's a library, beauty salon and barber, computer center, grand piano with dance floor, exercise and fitness rooms, a courtyard, outdoor hot tub, and secured walking areas with gardens and covered parking for those who need it. Community life includes activities like fitness classes, arts and crafts, card games, music programs, social gatherings, spiritual activities, and special events with a focus on hobbies and bringing folks together, and some residents even help run activities for others, which gives a nice sense of community and keeps boredom away. Transportation helps people get to medical appointments, shops, or local attractions using the 12-passenger bus or wheelchair van, and there's support for home health care, VA aid, and home care options too, with secure entrances, sprinklers, smoke alarms, and emergency call buttons throughout for peace of mind. Cottonwood Village fosters a safe, friendly, and warm setting where staff strives to make everyone feel respected and valued, working hard to provide personalized care, and the seniorly community score of 7.3 plus awards like "Best of Senior Living" suggest that residents and families are satisfied with the environment and level of care. This community adapts to different needs over time, which means you don't need to move if your health changes, and offers respite apartments for short stays, as well as extra support if someone just needs a break or temporary help, all in a relaxed, comfortable, and home-like setting managed by Sonida Senior Living.
