    Clean, caring home; excellent care

I placed my mom here and we're very pleased - the home is clean, comfortable and homey, and the owner is on-site. The staff are warm, caring and professional, treating residents like family; meals, grooming (hair/nails), activities and medical attention are excellent. Mom is happier, more social and peaceful, and I have real peace of mind; I would recommend it to other families.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviewers portray Mom's Place Assisted Living Home as a small, family-run facility that emphasizes a homelike environment and compassionate, person-centered care. Many families described a welcoming, well-kept interior and an atmosphere where residents are treated with respect and warmth. The owner’s visible presence and a staff approach characterized as patient and loving are recurring positives, and reviewers frequently noted that residents appeared peaceful, social, and engaged.

Care and staff: Care quality is commonly framed as compassionate and respectful; staff are described as attentive to personal needs and focused on dignity. The owner-on-site model appears to support hands-on management for day-to-day issues. At the same time, reviewers identified staffing instability as an operational concern — frequent aide turnover and inconsistent personnel continuity were said to affect attentiveness for some residents. A few comments also described variability in how smoothly staff changes were handled, suggesting that continuity of care can differ over time.

Dining and activities: Meals are consistently characterized as home-cooked and well received. The program of social activities, including singing and conversational groups, is credited with improving residents’ mood and, in some cases, physical and cognitive function. Included grooming services (hair and nails) and regular assistance with dressing were noted as conveniences that contribute to resident well-being and family peace of mind.

Facilities and management: The physical environment is described as clean, comfortable, and homey, with a well-appointed shower and generally pleasant common areas. Private rooms are reported to be on the smaller side, which may matter for families seeking more personal space. Financially, the facility is often viewed as reasonably priced, but there are instances of surprise fee increases; reviewers recommend clear, up-front communication about pricing and any future changes.

Limitations and suitability: Several reviewers cautioned that the home may not be the best fit for residents with advanced Alzheimer’s or complex hospice needs, citing limits in specialization and coordination of end-of-life services. Families considering Mom’s Place should clarify the facility’s dementia-care capabilities and hospice arrangements before placement. For prospective residents who need assisted-living–level support in a small, family-oriented setting, the facility appears to offer strong social engagement and compassionate day-to-day care; for those requiring steady, specialized clinical support or seamless hospice coordination, alternative settings or additional vetting are advisable.
