About Hope Haven Assisted Living Home

Hope Haven Assisted Living Home is a dedicated care provider in Kingman, committed to serving those who are no longer able to care for themselves by offering a home-like environment grounded in dignity, love, and respect. The origins of Hope Haven stem from a deeply personal journey and reflect a longstanding commitment to enhancing the quality of life for elders within the community. Established as a response to the heartfelt need for more compassionate and supportive elder care, Hope Haven opened its first residence in April 2018. Since then, it has expanded to two locations to better meet the community’s needs.

The original Hope Haven home provides accommodation for up to seven residents, featuring five private rooms and a comfortable semi-private option, ensuring each resident has the space and privacy necessary for well-being. Building upon this foundation, Hope Haven @ Helens Place was opened in November 2021. This thoughtfully designed location offers ten beds, with a configuration of three shared rooms and four private bedrooms, each equipped with its own bathroom to promote comfort and independence.

Hope Haven’s mission centers on lessening the stress and guilt often experienced by families during this transitional period in their loved ones’ lives. By fostering a supportive atmosphere for residents, staff, and families, Hope Haven strives to set a new standard for elder care and provide hope for brighter days ahead. The vision for the care home extends beyond just physical wellbeing, with a focus on nurturing emotional resilience and peace of mind for both residents and their relatives.

Residents benefit from 24-hour care delivered by a dedicated team comprising a registered nurse and fourteen certified caregivers. These professionals are committed to assisting with all activities of daily living, from personal care to mobility and daily routines. The care staff also provide three nutritious, home-cooked meals each day along with snacks, ensuring that residents receive both sustenance and enjoyment from their dining experiences.

Engagement and cognitive support are at the forefront of Hope Haven’s approach. The caregiving team utilizes techniques inspired by the occupational therapist and dementia advocates, including guidance from Teepa Snow, to create a nurturing and lower-stress environment for those living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. By integrating this specialized training into daily interactions, the team works to ensure every resident receives compassionate care tailored to their unique needs.

Underlying every aspect of Hope Haven is a sense of gratitude and community. The opening of the care homes was made possible through the unwavering support of family and friends, embodying a spirit of giving back to the Kingman area. Hope Haven Assisted Living Home stands as a testament to the belief that elder care should be driven by compassion, respect, and a vision of continuous improvement, offering residents—and their families—a place to call home during an important chapter in life.
