    Friendly staff, serious safety concerns

I liked how friendly the staff were and the place seemed clean, but I have major reservations. Management ignored maintenance and safety problems (non-working outlets, exposed wiring, tiny rooms, bathroom door that won't close, odors); caregivers could be disrespectful, there were language barriers, and I saw serious care lapses (feeding-tube mismanagement, meds given orally despite NPO). Most troubling: a death occurred during my loved one's stay under questionable circumstances (hospice evaluated twice, no autopsy), and billing/placement fees were mishandled-owner was pleasant until problems arose. Proceed with caution.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviews describe a facility with some positive interpersonal interactions and a clean appearance in parts alongside persistent operational and clinical concerns. Families noted friendly front-line staff and an owner who was accessible during admission, but those positives are offset by recurring issues related to clinical oversight, facility maintenance, and communication.

Care quality and clinical oversight: A notable pattern involves inconsistencies in clinical care processes. Multiple accounts point to lapses in medication administration controls and in the management of enteral feeding orders (for example, feeding-tube coordination and adherence to 'NPO' instructions). Reviewers also described situations that raised concerns about end-of-life care coordination and clinical decision-making; hospice was involved in at least one case, and families reported limited transparency after a resident’s death. These items suggest gaps in medication-safety protocols, feeding-management procedures, and post-incident family communication.

Staffing, communication, and conduct: Interactions with staff are described as mixed. Many families found staff to be friendly and approachable, but there are also repeated references to variability in staff conduct and responsiveness, including communication tone that families experienced as dismissive or blaming. Language barriers were specifically noted and appear to have interfered with care communication in some situations. Together, these elements indicate inconsistent training or staffing practices that affect resident experience and family confidence.

Dining and activities: Reviews provide limited direct information about formal activity programming. Feeding and meal-management issues are more prominent: concerns center on the execution of dietary orders and feeding-tube care rather than the quality or variety of meals. Prospective families should clarify meal-handling procedures and dietary oversight during visits.

Facilities, maintenance, and safety: The physical plant is described as an older building with small, private rooms. Several reviewers cited cramped room dimensions, dated flooring, and fixtures such as bathroom doors that do not fully close. Maintenance deficits were also reported, including non-working outlets and exposed wiring—issues that present safety hazards and signal uneven upkeep. There are also sanitation and odor-management inconsistencies noted in both outdoor and indoor areas, suggesting variable housekeeping effectiveness.

Management, billing, and transparency: Management responsiveness is a theme. Some families felt management did not adequately address raised concerns. Financial practices were questioned: reviewers described disputes over placement fees and initial charges, with at least one account of a partial refund issued only after formal complaint. Overall, these descriptions suggest the facility may have opaque billing practices and inconsistent follow-through on family complaints.

Notable patterns and considerations for families: The pattern across reviews indicates strengths in staff friendliness and some clean areas, but recurrent operational weaknesses in medication and feeding management, communication (including language barriers), maintenance and safety, and billing transparency. Prospective residents and families should prioritize direct, specific questions about medication and enteral-feeding protocols, observe staffing language abilities during a visit, inspect room size and electrical safety, and request written policies on incident notification and billing/refund procedures before making placement decisions.

    About Angelic Services for Seniors

Angelic Services for Seniors helps older adults and their families find the right place to live by matching different housing and care options to personal needs, and nobody pays for the placement help since they contract with homes and communities that already meet state standards and quality care requirements, and there's somebody named Gabriela Santillan-a senior services specialist with over ten years' experience-who listens carefully, meets in person if needed, and makes sure language isn't a barrier since there are Spanish-speaking representatives for those who want them. The service looks at everything needed, from medical care and daily living help to community preferences, budgets, and move-in timing, then recommends places like independent living communities, active adult apartments or homes, regular assisted living, small care homes (which are just regular houses turned into places where five to ten people live and get daily help in either private or shared rooms), and places with secure environments for people with Alzheimer's or dementia, offering meals, utilities, basic transportation, and activities. People can get all sorts of assistance with daily tasks-things like bathing, dressing, getting around, and managing medicine-and if needed, there's skilled nursing, memory care with 24/7 support and activities for memory, as well as wound care and rehabilitation, so whatever the need, something fits. There are caregiver support groups, training, consultations, move-in support, and even a touring service, which means someone goes with families to see possible homes and answers questions. If a family or senior needs help with legal matters, benefits, or wants to check if they qualify for VA, ALTCS, or long-term care insurance, they'll guide through resources or help with things like notary and patient advocacy. Long-term care planning, aging-in-place home modifications, in-home care, emergency systems, and special programs like Katie Dusenberry Elderly Health or Southern Arizona Dementia Power also form part of what's available, so folks can be sure there are choices-including community meals, fitness programs, and other ways to stay active and social. For low-income seniors, there's support with things like Pima meals on wheels, and the team helps check that each place is in good standing with the state and offers quality care. Usually there's a non-refundable fee when someone moves in, and most communities include meals, social activities, utilities, and sometimes transportation. The whole idea is to give straightforward, step-by-step help so the move is less stressful, with someone guiding from start to finish-always focused on helping families and seniors find what fits best for them, and that's what the phrase "Your Wings of Guidance" means at Angelic Services for Seniors.
