    Spotless, excellent food, caring staff

I had a very positive experience at this senior living community - spotlessly clean, excellent facilities, great food, and plenty of activities. The staff were consistently compassionate, competent, and responsive, and my room was a comfortable, decently sized space with furniture included. Overall, I would recommend this place.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews present a mixed picture of care at Oak Manor Nursing Center. Many comments highlight strengths: several reviewers praised staff as compassionate, competent, and easy to work with; others specifically noted timely responses, accommodating behavior, and friendly interactions. The facility’s common areas and rooms are often described as clean and of a reasonable size, with included furniture; activity programming is characterized as abundant and engaging. Dining receives generally positive remarks from some families, with other families expressing dissatisfaction, suggesting variation in meal experience.

At the same time, there are recurring operational concerns that warrant attention. Safety-related issues appear repeatedly: falls with injury and instances of insufficient use of transfer aids suggest gaps in fall-prevention and transfer protocols. There are also accounts indicating gaps in resident supervision that relate to resident-to-resident inappropriate contact and other safety lapses. Hand-hygiene and other infection-control practices were described as inconsistent, and high staff turnover was cited as a contributor to variability in care continuity and skill application.

Several reviews point to weaknesses in property and transition management. Missing personal items, misdelivered deliveries, and instances described as improper discharge coordination indicate weaknesses in personal-item handling, documentation, and discharge planning. Communication and customer-service deficiencies are described in multiple places; families cited uncooperative or discourteous interactions and situations where privacy policy was invoked in ways that limited information-sharing with families. One particularly serious theme includes allegations of staff theft and property mismanagement, which would merit an internal review or formal audit by leadership.

In summary, prospective residents and families can expect a facility with notable strengths in staff compassion, cleanliness in many areas, active programming, and generally positive dining in some cases. However, the pattern of safety and process concerns—especially around fall prevention, resident supervision, personal-item controls, discharge coordination, and variable staff conduct—indicates areas where management should prioritize training, policy reinforcement, and operational audits to improve consistency of care and family confidence.
