    Happy resident with excellent amenities

I live at Brookfield and am very happy here. The staff are kind, responsive and caring, communication with family is excellent, and the housekeeping and laundry keep everything very clean. The food (Chef John!) is delicious and plentiful, activities are abundant-bingo, Mimosa Mondays, outings, church services-and transportation for appointments and shopping is reliable. It's a welcoming, well-maintained, pet-friendly community I'd happily recommend.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Brookfield Assisted Living presents as a well-maintained, newer facility with a hotel-like feel. Reviewers consistently describe a clean interior, holiday and seasonal touches, and compact common spaces that lend themselves to frequent resident interaction. The community is relatively small, which many families and residents find contributes to a warm, family-style atmosphere, though that same scale may not suit every prospective resident.

Care and staff: Staff quality and interpersonal care are the most frequently cited strengths. Multiple comments emphasize compassionate, attentive employees who greet residents by name, follow up proactively with families, and respond quickly when needs arise. Leadership and on-site supervisors are described as engaged and helpful. These patterns point to consistent staff–family communication and a hands-on caregiving culture.

Dining and housekeeping: Dining is another clear strength. The presence of a chef, home-style and customizable meal options, and attentive kitchen staff are highlighted repeatedly. Families note that meals are flavorful and served promptly, and the dining room is set up to support accessibility. Housekeeping and laundry services are described as reliable, with some notes of twice-daily housekeeping and well-kept apartment units.

Activities and social life: Programming is broad and active, including bingo, exercise classes, concerts, day trips, devotional services, themed events (happy hour, Mimosa Mondays), and arts-and-crafts. Dedicated activity spaces, a puzzle area in the foyer, and outside groups visiting the community contribute to an engaged social calendar. These offerings support a lively resident environment and frequent opportunities for social engagement.

Facilities and amenities: The facility is presented as newer and well-maintained, with features such as an enclosed courtyard, on-site barbershop, TV room, and accessible dining areas. The small size of the community is associated with close relationships and a quieter, more intimate setting; some describe it as a vacation- or hotel-like environment.

Notable patterns and operational caveats: While the overall tenor of reviews is positive, a few operational patterns are worth noting for prospective families. The community tends toward higher pricing, and unit footprints are described as compact; cost and apartment size may be a limiting factor for some applicants. There are isolated but recurring mentions of visitor access delays tied to front-desk or entry staffing gaps, which can lead to waits at the door. Finally, while food quality and activities are broadly praised, individual taste and social-fit issues arise for a minority of residents—meaning prospective residents should assess whether the small-community atmosphere and program mix align with their preferences.

Bottom line: Brookfield appears to deliver strong interpersonal care, a robust activity schedule, high-quality dining, and attentive housekeeping in a clean, smaller-scale facility. Prospective residents and families should weigh the benefits of the intimate, well-staffed environment against higher costs, smaller apartment sizes, and the importance of ensuring the community’s social rhythm matches the resident’s needs. Visiting during program hours and testing entry/visitor procedures can help confirm operational fit.
