    Caring staff and homelike community

I'm very happy with Brookstone - the staff are genuinely caring and hands-on (24/7 nursing/CNAs) and standout team members like Megan Sprenger, Jennifer and Bernice go above and beyond. My dad feels at home in a clean, safe, family-like community with excellent food, plenty of activities and solid memory-care support. I recommend Brookstone for attentive, respectful care and real peace of mind.

    Summary of reviews

Reviewer feedback on Brookstone Assisted Living Community is mixed but centers strongly on staff quality and operational consistency. Many families describe caregiving personnel as compassionate, attentive, and personable; front-desk staff and specific caregivers receive frequent praise. Several accounts note 24/7 nursing and CNA coverage, prompt family notification for medical issues, and a family-like atmosphere that supports social connection and individualized attention. These staffing strengths are the facility's primary positive theme.

Dining and social programming are often cited as strengths. Numerous reviewers compliment the quality and flavor of meals, desserts, and snacks, and they highlight regular social offerings such as music, church services, outings, concerts and recurring events (for example, Friday happy hours). Memory-care programming and a secured courtyard are present and valued by families seeking that level of service. Outdoor courtyards, pet-friendly policies, and comfortable rooms with kitchenettes and views contribute to a home-like environment for many residents.

At the same time, a consistent pattern of operational weaknesses emerges. Housekeeping and laundry processes are described as inconsistent: some residents experience regular cleaning and tidy rooms, while others report missed cleanings, laundry delays, and unit-level sanitation concerns. Related maintenance issues include delayed responses to plumbing and room repairs, and reviewers indicate occasional odor-management problems in specific units. Accessibility limitations (small showers, non-wheelchair-accessible sinks) and intermittent building-maintenance issues (automatic doors, alarm/sprinkler concerns cited by some) suggest variable upkeep of the physical plant.

Staffing and administrative stability are additional areas of concern. Reviewers describe periods of understaffing, slow call-light responses, and higher-than-desired staff turnover, all of which affect care continuity and family confidence. Parallel to staffing issues, multiple reviewers described management or ownership turnover and uneven administrative communication — examples include confusion about payment methods, inconsistent follow-up, and differences in service expectations after leadership changes. These administrative patterns can contribute to variable resident experiences over time.

While many families are strongly satisfied — citing attentive care, meaningful activities, and a warm community feel — there are also some sharply negative accounts. A small number of reviewers raised serious concerns about staff conduct, visitation restrictions, and placement decisions; such claims are significant and merit direct inquiry during a tour and in conversations with leadership. Prospective residents and families should confirm current staffing levels, housekeeping schedules, maintenance-response protocols, and the facility's exact level-of-care offerings (including memory-care capacity) before committing.

In summary, Brookstone appears to offer a compassionate caregiving culture, appealing dining, and active social programming for many residents, but operational variability is notable. Key decision points for families should include verification of housekeeping and laundry routines, review of response times for clinical and maintenance requests, clarification of administrative policies (billing, visitation, level-of-care), and an assessment of the building’s accessibility and safety-system status. These checks will help determine whether the facility’s strengths align with an individual resident’s clinical needs and expectations for consistency.

    About Brookstone Assisted Living Community

Brookstone Assisted Living Community sits in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and has been serving seniors for more than 22 years, and folks in the area know it for being the first Assisted Living II community in Northwest Arkansas, with a rating of 4.9 from 31 reviews that shows people are mostly happy with the care they get. The community gives support to seniors who need some help with things like bathing, dressing, and taking medicine, and they offer both assisted living and memory care programs for people coping with Alzheimer's or dementia, with staff available around the clock and special focus on helping everyone keep as much independence as possible. The building has handicap safety features, Wi-Fi throughout, sprinkler systems, and a sandbox outside, so there's a mix of comfort and safety, and suites come with kitchens or kitchenettes and cable TV, so residents can have some privacy and make use of their own space if they like, plus there's weekly housekeeping and linen service, and laundry and dry cleaning, which makes daily routines easier to manage.

Brookstone has a big activities room, a fitness center, salon/barbershop, and common areas for socializing, so residents can stay busy and make friends, and the dining room serves meals with private dining options too. They bring in physical, occupational, and speech therapies for those who need it, and there are respite stay options for short-term care or recovery from illness, with a focus always on personal care, so a personal care assistant is always nearby. Transportation is available for doctor appointments or other outings, so people don't feel stuck, and the staff puts a lot of effort into helping residents stay active, engaged, and connected, with programs and activities made for people's own interests and abilities. Pets are allowed, the building's easy to get around in for folks with limited mobility, and there's cable TV and high-speed internet, so most comforts are covered. Awards and reviews point to good care and a real effort to treat residents with dignity and warmth, building a community atmosphere that's caring and friendly where people are encouraged to live, love, and learn as best they can, with special touches like memory care programs that try to make life more meaningful even as memory problems grow. Brookstone is open Monday through Saturday, 8am to 6pm, and on Sundays from 11am to 4pm.
