    Peaceful clean compassionate trustworthy care

I felt real peace of mind leaving my loved one here - the facility is exceptionally clean and the staff are compassionate, hands-on, and genuinely go above and beyond. ADON Cheryl, the DON and the rehab team were trustworthy, responsive, and communicative; residents seemed happy, activities and the garden are nice, and they kept everyone safe through COVID. It's an older building but well run, affordable, dog-friendly, and I would recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews describe a facility with notably strong interpersonal strengths alongside operational inconsistencies. Positive commentary centers on the caregiving team: many families and visitors emphasize compassionate, attentive nursing assistants and licensed staff, long-tenured employees, and hands-on management. Several accounts highlight effective rehabilitation services, dementia-friendly programming, daily activities, and comfortable outdoor and common areas that contribute to residents' sense of safety and belonging. The admissions process, affordability, and pet-friendly policy are additional strengths noted by prospective families.

At the same time, reviewers describe variability in day-to-day operations that affects the resident experience. The most common operational concerns are inconsistent responsiveness to call lights and delays in attending to resident needs, inconsistent meal service (including food temperature and delivery issues), and variable cleanliness and odor control across units. These patterns appear to fluctuate by shift and unit, producing a mixed set of experiences where some visitors observe a clean, well-run environment while others identify sanitation and maintenance issues.

Clinical oversight and communication also show mixed performance. Several reviews praised clear communication from administrators and the DON/ADON, but others describe gaps in incident documentation and family notification after clinical events, as well as concerns about medication-administration consistency and safety oversightโ€”including in the memory-care unit. A few reviewers described serious clinical incidents and concerns following a resident's death or injuries; these accounts underscore variability in clinical incident response and the importance of transparent reporting and follow-up.

Management and facility condition reflect a similar dichotomy. Leadership and some long-serving managers receive positive mentions for responsiveness and trustworthiness, yet reviewers also cite billing and administrative transparency concerns and the effects of an older building: maintenance needs, mildew or other odor concerns, and manual beds were noted. Room-choice limitations and mandatory roommate policies were a source of dissatisfaction for some families.

For prospective residents and families, the pattern to note is one of strong, empathetic caregiving capacity paired with operational inconsistency. When considering Windcrest Health and Rehab Inc., arrange an in-person tour across multiple units and shifts, ask for specifics about staffing ratios, clinical-incident reporting procedures, medication administration safeguards, dining schedules and hot-food delivery practices, and room-assignment policies. Confirm any concerns about maintenance or odor control and ask for recent inspection or quality metrics to gauge whether the operational issues described in some reviews have been addressed.

Windcrest Health and Rehab Inc. operates as a health and rehabilitation facility that has been serving seniors since 2004, and while you won't find a lot of detailed information about what exactly goes on day-to-day, you can tell they aim to help people at many different stages in life, whether someone likes to stay active and independent or needs regular help from caregivers around the clock. The community provides professional medical attention, offering short-term and long-term care for folks dealing with either physical or memory-related challenges, and people have access to services at all hours, which gives some peace of mind in a place like this. They offer a mix of care options, like assisted living, independent senior apartments, memory care rooms, respite care, rehab therapy for people getting back on their feet after surgery or illness, and skilled nursing care for those who need more consistent help, so there's a bit to choose from if someone's health or situation changes.

Meals at Windcrest Health and Rehab Inc. are planned out by chefs and meal planners who focus on making food that's both tasty and nutritious, which can matter a lot over the long haul. Folks can keep busy with activity programs designed to keep them engaged, both mentally and physically, so days don't all run together.

The facility has a website at windcresthealthandrehab.com, but most details about amenities or specific programs aren't widely listed, so families often reach out directly to learn more.
