    Compassionate secure memory care community

I placed my parent here and I'm very pleased: staff are warm, professional, and attentive, the resort-like, park-like grounds and gardens are beautiful, and the facility is clean and well kept. Memory care is strong - 24/7 nursing, personalized care levels, lots of engaging activities (painting, music, resident art), on-site chef/dietician, and flexible dining and visiting options that give our family real peace of mind. Communication is excellent and residents seem active and happy; I recommend this community for quality, compassionate care.

    Summary of reviews

Silverado Belmont Hills positions itself as a specialized memory-care community with a resort-like campus and a broad range of clinical and social supports. Reviewers consistently highlight its dementia-focused approach, 24/7 licensed nursing coverage, on-site medical coordination, and staff emphasis on dignity and quality of life. The campus is large and park-like (approximately 18 acres), offering extensive outdoor walking spaces, fenced wander-management areas, and a visible commitment to landscaping and outdoor access. The community is pet-friendly and offers a number of resident-centered amenities that aim to create a welcoming environment for families.

Care and staff performance are the strongest recurring themes. Families and visitors frequently describe compassionate, patient caregivers and nursing teams who provide individualized attention, one-on-one engagement, and coordinated medical care. The community provides flexible care-level options and formal programs for memory support; reviewers reference evidence-based programming, family education, and a staff culture that prioritizes resident dignity. At the same time, several families raised operational concerns: staffing levels and turnover are inconsistent at times, and there are occasional delays or variability in medication-management practices and responsiveness. Communication between facility staff and families or external physicians is generally good but not uniformly consistent, and some reviewers advised that prospective families clarify communication and medication protocols during touring.

Dining and activities are prominent positives. Silverado Belmont is described as having chef-led meals with dietitian oversight, multiple dining rooms (including private dining for family meals), and plentiful snacks and treats. Meal quality is frequently praised as fresh and appealing. The activities program is broad and varied — painting, karaoke, live music, themed events, animals, and other creative programs were highlighted — and participation is optional to respect resident preference. These offerings contribute to increased social engagement and activity levels for many residents.

Facility features show contrast across the campus. Public spaces, exterior landscaping, and common areas are often described as updated, resort-like, and well maintained. Conversely, some resident rooms and certain interior wings were characterized as dated or institutional in feel; room sizes in older units can be smaller, and a few reviewers noted sanitation/odor concerns in specific interior areas. There are also practical issues to verify in advance: limited secure storage or room-locking options were mentioned, and the site can present traffic and parking/access constraints. Pricing is consistently identified as at the premium end of the market; many families felt the cost was justified by the level of memory-care expertise and campus amenities, while others found it expensive relative to perceived gaps.

Overall, Silverado Belmont Hills is frequently recommended for families seeking a memory-care–specialized community with strong clinical resources, active programming, and a park-like campus. Prospective residents and families should tour multiple neighborhoods, ask detailed questions about staffing ratios and turnover, review medication-management and communication protocols, inspect individual rooms for layout and furnishings, and confirm secure storage options and odor-management practices before making a decision. For those who prioritize dementia-specific programming, one-on-one engagement, and extensive outdoor space, the community offers substantial strengths; for budget-conscious families or those seeking uniformly updated private rooms and consistently low staff turnover, there are operational trade-offs to evaluate.

About Silverado Belmont Hills Memory Care Community

Silverado Belmont Hills Memory Care Community sits among quiet, tree-lined grounds and is built as a single-story, free-standing building, so folks don't have to worry about stairs or elevators, which makes getting around simpler. The place specializes in memory care and is designed for people with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia, offering both private and semi-private rooms, with studios starting at $12,450 and semi-private rooms at $9,600. The community keeps the property secured with things like coded entry and a wander alert system - even using special bracelets to help prevent residents from getting lost. All the staff, including licensed nurses, masters level social workers, and a physician as medical director, are certified in dementia care, and there's someone on-site at all hours of the day and night, ready to help with medication, diabetic care, incontinence, and behavioral concerns such as wandering or aggression.

Silverado offers personalized care plans and adapts as needs change. Nurses help with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, and moving around-using lifts if needed-and also take care of people with diabetes, bowel or bladder issues, or mobility problems. Residents who have a risk of eloping or who show difficult behaviors can still be cared for here, and the team is trained to manage these situations, doing their best to keep everyone safe and treated with respect. Families can also find respite care here if they need a temporary break from caregiving responsibilities.

There's a regular schedule of activities, from stretching, yoga, and gardening, to art, cooking classes, and even karaoke or trips out on the Silverado bus. Programs like Nexus support brain-healthy living, while the Silverado Sensory Program offers ways to help residents connect with their environment. Social interaction and emotional well-being are encouraged, and staff run things like pet programs because residents can even bring their dog or cat, with help caring for the pet if needed. A chef prepares meals with options for special diets, including vegetarian, and there are guest meals and private dining if families visit. The community has indoor and outdoor common areas, a fitness room, library, garden spots, beautician services, and wheelchair-friendly showers.

Silverado Belmont Hills keeps a warm, inviting atmosphere, and the property stays clean and well-kept for all residents. The culture leans heavily on kindness and patience, and the community aims to give support to both residents and their families, offering educational resources on dementia and crisis help for caregivers. Amenities like complimentary transportation, hospice, and ADL/IADL support are included. Onsite and visiting professionals like physical, occupational, and speech therapists provide extra care as needed. The place also offers devotional services, intergenerational programs, and special activities that keep people's minds and bodies active. Silverado Belmont Hills Memory Care Community has spent more than twenty years focusing on memory care, striving to give seniors living with dementia a safe, dignified, and comfortable place to call home.
