    Compassionate professional care, warm home

I moved my mom here and am very pleased - the caregivers are compassionate, professional, and truly personalize care while keeping family informed. The home is warm, clean, well-appointed with lovely grounds, good flexible meals, and regular activities that keep residents happy. Overall a comforting, safe place where my mom settled quickly and is well cared for.

    Summary of reviews

Mameleh & Tateleh's Upscale Living elicits a mixed but actionable picture. Many families praise the facility for its warm, home-like atmosphere, tasteful decor, and well-maintained grounds. Residents and relatives frequently describe compassionate, attentive caregivers and strong collaboration with hospice and external medical providers, which together contribute to personalized care plans and frequent family communication. The facility also offers engaging programming — weekly live piano performances and holiday events are noted — and many reviewers highlight spacious, well-appointed rooms and an environment that feels welcoming.

Care quality and staffing present a generally positive pattern in day-to-day resident interactions: staff are described as patient, respectful, and responsive to individualized requests (for example, accommodating specific meal preferences). Several families cite rapid settling-in and consistently good grooming and daily support for residents. At the same time, reviewers identify operational limits in clinical services. The facility lacks on-site nurses and therapists in some cases, and clinical services appear dependent on hospice teams or outside providers. This operational design leads to reliance on families for transportation to external appointments and can create gaps in on-site medical coverage.

Dining and culinary services are characterized as pleasant and flexible by many families — meals are described as healthy and adaptable to resident needs. However, the operational capacity of the kitchen appears constrained; some reviewers mention the absence of a dedicated chef or limited culinary staffing, suggesting potential vulnerability during staffing shortages or increased demand.

Facility- and environment-related themes are mixed. Positive notes include tasteful decor, garden areas, and spacious rooms. Conversely, there are sanitation and upkeep concerns in some common areas (for example, stained carpeting and a need for deeper cleaning). Shared bathroom arrangements in portions of the building and inconsistencies in property-handling and turnover procedures (including how belongings are managed following a resident’s death) were also raised and may warrant operational review.

Administrative and access issues emerge as additional patterns. Families describe occasional gaps in administrative responsiveness and follow-up from admissions staff, coupled with rising fees and limited transparency around some charges. The facility appears to be in high demand; this can be a positive indicator of reputation but also results in waitlists and limited immediate availability. Language differences with some staff members are cited as a communication barrier in certain interactions.

In sum, Upscale Living offers strong interpersonal care, a homelike setting, active programming, and effective hospice partnerships — attributes that many families value highly. Prospective residents and their families should weigh these strengths against operational limitations: inconsistent cleanliness in some areas, constrained on-site clinical and culinary resources, communication barriers, and administrative follow-through and fee-transparency concerns. These are practical considerations to confirm during a visit: ask about current staffing for nursing and therapy, cleaning schedules and turnover procedures, private-bathroom availability, how medical appointments are coordinated, and the facility’s fee structure and admissions waitlist practices.

About Mameleh & Tateleh's Upscale Living

Mameleh & Tateleh's Upscale Living sits on Thorn Crest Court in Santa Clarita, and has six licensed beds, so it feels quiet and homelike, much more like a private house than a large facility, and the staff get to know each resident well, because they've set it up for only a handful of people to live there at a time. The care team stays on site 24 hours a day, helping with personal care, bathing, dressing, medication, housekeeping, and laundry, and they're good at telling families about changes or updates that come up. They've got plenty of activities-things like creative arts classes, movie nights, themed parties, shopping trips, and group meals in shared spaces, so residents aren't left without anything to do. The meals get cooked to order, and staff pay attention to dietary needs and restrictions, which matters to a lot of people.

There's a special focus on memory care, with a secure section in its own building for residents with Alzheimer's or dementia, and they use bracelets that ring alarms if someone tries to wander, which helps keep everyone safe. Staff can do standby help or use lifts if needed, and they match care plans to the needs of each person, so someone can start with more independence and stay as care needs increase over time. The property's wheelchair accessible, with private baths and showers designed for people who need extra support.

The place tries to make things comfortable and a bit upscale, with spacious common rooms and outdoor areas where people can sit or spend time together, and there's a friendly, welcoming tone throughout-the kind of place where people say it feels like home to them and their loved ones. There's devotional services available, transportation for appointments or trips, short-term respite stays if someone needs temporary care, and a nurse or doctor on call for health needs. With a license from the state of California, they provide both Adult Care Home and Assisted Living services, including non-medical care, group activities, meals, medication help, memory care, and personalized support designed to keep residents safe, comfortable, and as independent as possible.
