    Impressive caring professionally run community

I toured Oakmont and was very impressed - a brand-new, gorgeous facility with bright, hotel-like dining, spacious apartments and beautifully maintained grounds with great views. The reception, nursing and professional staff were knowledgeable, attentive and genuinely caring, knew residents by name, gave clear explanations and stayed proactively communicative (they even sent a handwritten sympathy card when our hospice situation changed plans). There are abundant activities, chef-driven meals, on-site medical services and transportation for outings - everything felt patient-centered and professionally run. We never actually moved in because of hospice, but I would seriously consider Oakmont in the future and happily recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Oakmont of Santa Clarita is presented across reviews as a high-end, recently built community with strong hospitality and clinical features. Families repeatedly praise the compassionate and professional staff, robust nursing presence, and on-site clinical supports such as physical therapy and visiting physicians. Memory-care security features and fall-detection technologies are noted, and several accounts highlight responsive issue resolution and thoughtful family communication, including personalized gestures from leadership.

The facility’s physical environment and amenities are consistently described as luxurious and resort-like: brand-new construction, attractive gardens, large common areas, theater and activity rooms, and spacious apartment layouts (including larger two-bedroom units). Dining is a central strength for many families — restaurant-style service, varied menus, a chef-driven program, and all-day dining or special brunches are frequently commended. A broad activity calendar (on-site classes, entertainers, bus trips, and community clubs) contributes to an engaged, social atmosphere.

Observed patterns of concern center on cost, consistency, and operations. The community’s premium pricing places it out of reach for many prospective residents. Several families described variability in meal quality and uneven service levels between different staff groups; reviews include references to occasional staffing shortages and communication lapses with families and outside providers. There are also comments indicating inconsistent handling of residents’ belongings and questions about regulatory or permit compliance that merit follow-up during any tour or decision process.

Practical considerations for prospective residents and families: arrange a thorough, unhurried tour with meal sampling and specific questions about staffing ratios, weekend and evening clinical coverage, and procedures for belongings handling and incident communication. Ask to review current regulatory status and staffing plans tied to any expansion. For families valuing upscale amenities, robust activities, and visible clinical supports, Oakmont appears to offer a strong service model; for those sensitive to price or preferring smaller household scale, the facility’s size and cost are potential drawbacks to weigh carefully.

    About Oakmont of Santa Clarita

Oakmont of Santa Clarita sits on a landscaped campus with nice views, gardens, and walking paths, and when you walk around, you'll see wide, clean grounds and resident gardens where people seem to enjoy some quiet time outside, so if you like being in nature without leaving home, there's enough green space for that. Inside, folks can live in a studio or a two-bedroom apartment, and the floorplans have names such as Madrone, Cypress, Redwood, Acacia, Sequoia, Oak, Pine, and Walnut, which helps residents remember which layout they're in, and each place seems spacious enough for people to have what they need without feeling cramped. People who live here are aged 55 and older, and they can choose independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care for folks with Alzheimer's or dementia, and it's even set up as a continuing care retirement community, which means someone can get more help if their needs change over time.

Dining is something people pay attention to, and Oakmont of Santa Clarita has a culinary team-including chefs trained in fine dining-offering meals from breakfast through dinner, and someone once said the dining here feels like eating in a nice restaurant every day, plus there are different spaces for dining so people don't have to eat in the same spot. There's a wellness center on the premises, and they keep a full-time nurse on staff, so if somebody has health changes or daily needs, there's always someone to help out, day or night, and it feels comforting to know that extra care is right there if things shift. Staff are around 24 hours a day and people have access to security and safe surroundings, and from what people see, the staff often greet folks with a smile.

Besides the basics, Oakmont of Santa Clarita also has a private movie theater, a salon for haircuts or self-care, and activity rooms where residents sometimes gather for crafts, talks, or celebrations, so there's usually always something going on if anyone wants to join in. Their caregiver support resources and a blog are there for families and caregivers to find helpful information, which people seem to appreciate, especially if they're new to senior living decisions. Oakmont of Santa Clarita has an RCFE license number #197610184, offers regular tours for those thinking about moving in, and makes floorplans and photos available so families can get a feel for what living here looks like, and although all these perks are nice, what most folks talk about is having peace of mind, plenty of choices, and knowing there's help close by if it's ever needed.
