    Caring owners and attentive staff

I placed my loved one at Garden Terrace and have been very pleased - the owners and attendants are amazingly caring and hands-on. It's a small, quiet six-resident home with clean rooms and very little odor; staff take residents to all appointments and Julie plans many fun activities and outings. My family has seen real improvement since the move, and I highly recommend this lovely assisted-living home.

    Summary of reviews

Review feedback indicates a facility that operates as a small, family-run board-and-care with clear strengths in personalized attention and hands-on management. Several comments highlight engaged caregivers and owners who take an active role in residents' daily care and transportation to appointments; families described improvements in individual residents after the move and offered strong recommendations. Staff behavior is characterized positively using terms such as friendly and caring, and the facility's small size supports closer staff–resident relationships.

Activity programming is the most variable element in the reviews. Some feedback describes a lack of planned activities and a largely passive daily routine that a family characterized as basic supervision rather than engagement. Conversely, other accounts praise management (specifically an individual named Julie) for planning and running numerous activities and outings. Prospective families should verify the current activity schedule and how consistently events are implemented for different residents.

Facility and environment comments are mixed but informative. The house is a six-resident board-and-care in a quiet residential neighborhood with adequate private rooms, generally clean common areas, and minimal odor. At the same time, reviewers noted that the interior could use cosmetic updating; the descriptor "mild facelift" suggests maintenance needs rather than major structural problems. Dining receives no substantive commentary in the available reviews, so there is no clear evidence about meal quality, menu variety, or dining logistics.

Operationally, reviewers imply some limitations that reflect the facility's size and policies. The small capacity supports individualized attention but may limit the range of on-site services and resources available compared with larger assisted living communities. One reviewer described staff as cautious about permitting visitors, which suggests a restrictive or closely managed visitor-access practice; families should clarify the facility's visitor policy and how it is applied. Overall, the pattern is of a small, well-intentioned, owner-run home with strong personal care and transportation support, coupled with variability in activity offerings and a need for cosmetic updates. Prospective residents and families should confirm current activity programming, visitor policies, and any additional services that may be required.
