    Spotless home-like rehab, attentive staff

I trusted The Grove with my mom for rehab and was very pleased. The renovated, spotless building feels home-like and smells pleasant. Staff from reception to CNAs, LVNs and RNs were kind, attentive and understanding-Nancy, Griselda and Cameron were especially helpful. Activities run daily, the dining/coffee area is nice, and social services provided excellent admissions and discharge planning. I would recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviews indicate that Orangegrove Rehabilitation Hospital is viewed positively for its rehabilitation focus, welcoming reception, and upkeep. Many families praised the facility's cleanliness, modern renovations, active volunteer program, and a robust seven-day activity schedule that includes music and social opportunities. Admissions and social-work/discharge-planning processes earned repeated praise for thoroughness and helpfulness, and several named staff members and case managers were highlighted for being particularly supportive and organized.

Care and staff: The most consistent strength described is staff engagement: nurses, aides, receptionists, and ancillary personnel were frequently characterized as caring, patient, and attentive. Reviewers described compassionate interactions, multilingual assistance, and an overall home-like atmosphere with prompt responses to requests. At the same time, there is a pattern of variability in clinical care quality and staff conduct. While many accounts emphasize exemplary caregiving, a minority of accounts describe experiences that families perceived as unsafe or unpleasant. Those accounts create a contrast with the generally positive descriptions and suggest uneven performance across shifts or teams.

Dining and activities: Activity programming is a clear strength, with ongoing daily offerings and communal dining-room events that include music and beverages. Dining quality drew mixed commentary: some families found the dining experience satisfactory, while others suggested the food could be improved. Prospective families may want to observe a meal service and ask about menu rotation and accommodations for dietary needs.

Facilities and operations: The physical plant and housekeeping receive consistently favorable remarks: reviewers noted a renovated, modern building, consistent cleanliness, and a pleasant environment for visiting. The facility's size — not too large, not too small — was mentioned as contributing to a family-friendly feel. Several reviews also cited positive interactions with reception and concierge staff, reinforcing the impression of organized front-end operations.

Management and notable patterns: Management changes were referenced, with at least one comment indicating improvement under new leadership. Admissions tours and open-door policies were praised, and discharge planning was described as a strength handled well by social services and case management. However, the coexistence of strong positive reports and a few serious negative accounts points to operational inconsistency as an important pattern: some shifts or teams appear to deliver very high-quality care, while others may fall short. Prospective families should ask about recent staffing stability, staff-to-resident ratios, incident-reporting procedures, and quality metrics.

Recommendations for prospective families: When evaluating this facility, consider observing a tour that includes a meal and an activity session, request recent inspection reports and any quality indicators, meet the nursing leadership and case manager who will coordinate discharge, and ask specific questions about staffing patterns across days and nights. Given the mix of strong positive feedback and isolated serious concerns, direct observation and targeted questions will help determine whether the facility's strengths align with your priorities and whether operational variability has been addressed.

    About Orangegrove Rehabilitation Hospital

Orangegrove Rehabilitation Hospital is a nursing home and rehabilitation hospital that serves both short-term and long-term residents, and folks come here for many levels of care, so you'll see people with memory care needs, those needing skilled nursing, and some receiving palliative, hospice, or restorative care, and the staff specializes in rehabilitative services like physical, occupational, and speech therapy, plus suction and oxygen therapies, wound management, and other clinical care that's available day and night, with skilled nursing present for 12 to 16 hours each day and 24-hour supervision for safety. The hospital is part of Life Care Centers of America, which means it follows the practices of a large organization, and it keeps high infection control standards, including for COVID-19, following guidance from local health departments for visitation. There are 97 certified beds, with mostly full capacity, and rooms come in private, shared, and studio layouts, all with high-speed internet, and furnished settings, and some with private bathrooms to make recovery a bit more comfortable. Most people get assistance with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, and managing medicines, and a call system connects residents to help at any time, and meals are offered restaurant-style with all-day options, including menu items for allergies or diabetes. The building features outdoor paths and gardens for walking, a fitness room and wellness spa, and indoor spaces like an arts room, a game room, a business room, and a library, plus there's a community kitchen, a barber salon, movie nights, music, activities run by residents, group programs, and special events involving family and friends. Staff help with move-in, transportation, and social services, guiding both residents and families with discharge and care plans. Housekeeping and laundry services are available, and transportation and parking make things easier for visitors. Orangegrove Rehabilitation Hospital takes Medicare and Medicaid insurance, and with amenities like a dining room, courtyards, daily activities, and all the support you'd need, it's a place where older adults work toward regaining their independence, backed up by experienced healthcare professionals aiming for each resident to reach their best possible function and comfort.
