    Friendly staff and clean community

I live here and have had a very positive experience. The staff are friendly, attentive, and accommodating-always responsive and willing to go the extra mile even when short-handed. The community is beautiful, tidy, and very clean, with good, varied meals and the amenities I need; activities exist (a bit limited at times) and I feel well taken care of and getting good value.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in these reviews is strongly positive, with repeated emphasis on a well-maintained, attractive community and a high standard of cleanliness. Multiple reviewers described the facility as beautiful, neat, and tidy, which indicates that housekeeping and facility upkeep are consistent strengths. The location and the presence of needed amenities were also noted, suggesting the community meets basic convenience and lifestyle expectations for residents and families.

Care quality and staff performance are central positive themes. Reviewers consistently reported that residents are well taken care of and that staff are friendly, attentive, and responsive. Several comments specifically note that staff go out of their way to help, and that questions are answered — pointing to both individual caregiver compassion and effective communication from staff and management. Descriptions such as "accommodating," "nice staff," and "attentive care" collectively portray a caregiving team that is both personable and competent. This contributes to the impression of good overall value for residents.

Dining is another clear strength. The reviews mention a good variety of meals and generally positive reactions to food, with at least one summary explicitly noting "no food complaints." This suggests the dining program provides acceptable choices and quality for residents. Management responsiveness is also reflected in comments about questions being answered and accommodating behavior, which supports the perception of a well-run facility from an administrative standpoint.

Activities received mixed feedback. Several reviewers said there is a variety of activities, indicating that the community offers programming and engagement opportunities. However, other summaries described activities as limited. Taken together, this suggests that activity offerings may vary by day, month, or expectation level; while programming exists, some residents or families have found it insufficiently robust or inconsistent. Prospective residents should ask for a current activity calendar and examples of typical weekly programming to judge fit.

The primary concern raised across reviews is staffing levels: reviewers noted the community is short-handed at times. Although caregivers were still described as attentive and responsive overall, occasional staffing shortages could affect service consistency, response times, or the breadth of available activities. This pattern implies that while the staff currently do a good job, there may be times when they are stretched thin, which could impact resident experience on busier days or during staff turnover.

In summary, the reviews paint St Michael's Home-The Elderly as a clean, attractive community with caring, friendly staff, good food, and an overall positive resident experience and value. The most notable caveats are occasional staffing shortages and variability in activity offerings; these do not dominate the reviews but are recurring concerns worth inquiring about during a visit. Recommended follow-ups for interested families include requesting a sample activity calendar, asking about typical staff-to-resident ratios and how staffing gaps are managed, and arranging a meal or tour to confirm the dining and facility atmosphere in person.

    About St Michael's Home-The Elderly

St Michael's Home-The Elderly sits at 306 Sierra Madre Avenue in Glendora, California, working as a small care community for seniors, where you'll find a home-like place focused on elderly care, having room for only six residents at a time, which means there's more attention for each person. The facility has both private suites and shared rooms, offering choices for living arrangements based on what someone feels comfortable with, and the monthly rental for a two-bedroom is $2,520. St Michael's Home-The Elderly provides support with daily needs, like help with bathing, dressing, getting in and out of bed, toileting, and medication reminders, which is important for people who have trouble keeping up on their own. There's always staff available day and night to help out, and if someone needs care for memory problems, like Alzheimer's or dementia, there's a special memory care area with secure spaces and programs meant to help residents stay safe and engaged, along with thoughtful touches such as memory-enhancing games and planned activities. Seniors who need skilled nursing, such as wound care or rehabilitation after surgery, also get help here, but the home works best for people who need regular support, but not a full hospital setting. If hospice care is needed, the staff provides comfort measures for residents with serious illness, helping families through difficult times. Meals are home-cooked three times each day, and the kitchen staff can handle special diets for health problems like high blood pressure or diabetes, and home-style amenities include things like a reading room, a garden, spaces for games, and visits from a mobile hairdresser, so residents can keep up with grooming. The activity schedule is varied, with fitness programs, music, creative projects, outdoor trips, game nights, and sometimes even animal therapy or music therapy, all focused on keeping people active and connected, and there are options to get rides for medical appointments, shopping, and church. Residents get to feel like they're part of a family in a warm, calming house, with both independence and help where it's needed, so whether the care is for convalescent recovery, ongoing assisted living, hospice support, or just a maintenance-free senior lifestyle, St Michael's Home-The Elderly tries to cover all the key needs for older adults living together in a place that's steady and supportive.
