    Caring staff, great therapy, recommended

I had a very positive stay - the CNAs, nurses and concierge Rose were caring and attentive, and post-surgery care made me feel safe and supported. Therapy improved my mobility, meals were good, the facility was clean and home-like, and I would recommend Brighton - strong care that's nearly outstanding.

    Summary of reviews

Hacienda Post Acute elicits strongly mixed impressions from families and residents. Many reviewers praise the facility for friendly, welcoming staff, effective therapy that produces measurable functional gains, and a clean, well-kept environment. Activities, entertainment and religious services are noted as positive contributors to residents' quality of life, and several accounts highlight good meal quality and veteran-focused services. These positive descriptions suggest the facility can deliver a supportive, rehabilitative experience for many residents.

At the same time, there are recurring operational concerns that prospective families should evaluate. Multiple accounts describe inconsistent staff conduct and communication tone; while some staff are described as very attentive and helpful, others are characterized as unprofessional or unresponsive. Clinical responsiveness is an area of concern in several reports, with examples pointing to delays in attending to continence needs and limited availability or responsiveness during night shifts. These patterns indicate variability in day-to-day caregiving and supervision.

Dining and personal-care practices are another mixed area. Meals themselves are frequently described as adequate, but there are reports of inconsistent dining-assistance and procedures that some family members experienced as compromising resident dignity. Incontinence-care delays and timing of assistance were described in ways that raise questions about routine caregiving processes. Prospective residents and families should ask specifically about dining-assistance protocols, mobility support, and continence-care procedures when touring the facility.

Facility maintenance and programming receive positive comments — many reviewers note a well-maintained interior and exterior, regular entertainment, and spiritual offerings. However, some reviewers also mention localized sanitation or odor-control issues and uneven temperature control in portions of the building. These observations suggest the physical plant is generally maintained but may have intermittent environmental management gaps.

Communication and management practices show notable divergence. Several families praised timely updates and welcoming staff interactions; others found the phone/communication systems antiquated and difficult to use, hindering contact with residents. There is also at least one serious claim involving alleged theft and intended regulatory reporting; while this appears to be an individual allegation, it is a matter worth confirming with facility leadership and regulatory records.

Overall, Hacienda Post Acute demonstrates clear strengths in rehabilitation, programming, and some elements of caregiving, alongside operational variability in staff behavior, clinical responsiveness, dignity-related practices, and communications infrastructure. Families considering this facility should arrange an in-person visit, speak with nursing leadership about staffing and night-shift coverage, review protocols for continence and dining assistance, test communication systems, and request recent inspection or complaint records to form a balanced view.
