    Excellent rehab with caring staff

I placed my dad here for rehab and I'm very pleased. The facility is spotless and odor-free, staff are friendly, professional and genuinely caring, therapy is excellent, meals are tasty, and activities create a warm, family-like atmosphere. Overall very satisfied and would recommend with only minor room for improvement.

    Summary of reviews

Lindsay Gardens receives frequent praise for its rehabilitation programs, facility upkeep, and the overall warmth of its staff. Reviewers consistently highlight strong physical, occupational, and speech therapy services, an inviting therapy gym, and a multidisciplinary approach that supports recovery from surgery and short-term skilled rehab. The building and grounds are often described as newly remodeled, clean, and well maintained, with ample parking and convenient loading areas that facilitate visits and transfers.

Staff-level strengths are a prominent theme: nursing assistants, licensed nurses, therapists, activities staff, and many administrative leaders are described as compassionate, attentive, and family-oriented. Several reviewers noted proactive updates from staff, visible management engagement, and 24/7 availability for clinical questions. The activities and events program โ€” including community-facing events โ€” is reported to be active and well attended, which contributes to a lively resident community. Dining and support services such as the kitchen, housekeeping, and laundry receive repeated positive comments for cleanliness, menu variety, and reliability.

However, the reviews also point to recurring operational concerns families should consider. There are consistent comments about staffing strain and high workloads, which some reviewers linked to delays in personal-care routines and inconsistent hygiene and skin-care practices. Specific clinical capability gaps were noted, including limited wound-care resources and restricted availability of some specialty services. Several families raised questions about physician coverage and clinical oversight, and a few described delayed escalation or hospital-transfer processes; collectively these indicate potential weaknesses in clinical escalation and end-of-life coordination that merit direct inquiry.

Communication and admissions performance appear variable. Many families praised admissions staff and front-desk helpfulness, while other accounts described unprofessional interactions or slow responsiveness, particularly during phone calls or incident follow-up. Infection-control handling also drew concern in a few accounts, suggesting the facility could improve clarity of protocols and communication during outbreaks. Finally, while the facilityโ€™s location and grounds are strengths for some, a number of reviewers noted distance as an inconvenience for regular visitors.

Overall, Lindsay Gardens offers a well-regarded rehabilitation environment with notable strengths in therapy, housekeeping, activities, and many caring staff members. Prospective residents and families would be advised to visit, evaluate the aspects most important to them, and ask targeted questions about staffing ratios, wound-care and specialty-service availability, onsite physician coverage, transfer/escalation procedures, and infection-control protocols to ensure the facilityโ€™s operational practices match their care expectations.

About Lindsay Gardens Nursing & Rehabilitation

Lindsay Gardens Nursing & Rehabilitation sits in a modest building with 99 certified beds and usually sees about 90 residents each day, and the staff includes nurses who work an average of 3.91 hours for each resident per day, which is below the state average, but the nurse turnover rate, sitting at 29%, stays lower than the state's typical 40%. It's a for-profit facility owned by Providence Group of California LLC and affiliated with Pacs Group, and Riley Bennett's been managing the place since August 2023, making sure things run as they should. Over the last 36 months, there have been 26 deficiencies in inspection reports, including 3 tied to infection control, and the reports show issues in areas like resident assessment and care planning and pharmacy services, but these have caused no actual harm so far, only the potential for more than minimal harm, which the staff tries hard to address by focusing on professional standards.

Residents at Lindsay Gardens receive skilled nursing care day and night, and short-term rehabilitation programs aim to help folks recover after an illness or surgery, with a big rehab gym where therapists and aides work with patients on their recovery, like helping stroke patients stand or transfer from bed to chair. Folks with memory problems, including Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia, have a spot here too, with a focus on making individualized care plans that adjust as needs change. You'll see staff who take pride in calling residents by name and offering help when needed, and nurse aides like Sylvia have a reputation for being attentive and patient. The place has a 4-star Medicare rating for quality, and the team includes licensed experts who can answer questions about care or admissions around the clock, and the business office keeps regular hours six days a week.

The environment feels homey and warm, with recent renovations brightening up common areas and landscaped outdoor spaces where families can spend time together. Residents get a choice of meals, daily living help with things like bathing and medications, and there's a steady schedule of social, educational, and entertainment activities, all designed to keep people active and connected. The staff puts an emphasis on dignity and independence, and the administrators tend to treat everyone with compassion and understanding. There's online bill pay for convenience and a front desk open every day except Sunday. While the facility's record isn't spotless, with some past deficiencies mostly connected to infection, care planning, or pharmacy matters, most people here describe Lindsay Gardens as a place where attention to individual needs, patient safety, and day-to-day comfort matter most.
