    Very pleased with Sundial care

I placed my mom at Sundial and have been very pleased. The staff (caregivers, nursing and front office like Maria and Elizabeth) are warm, attentive, and go above and beyond-24/7 care, medication management, reassuring move-in support-and the community is immaculately clean, home-like with lovely gardens, delicious made-to-order meals and plenty of activities. Their strong COVID protocols kept everyone safe with no cases, and I'm grateful for the caring team; I'd recommend Sundial for respite or long-term care.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Sundial Assisted Living is characterized by a consistently warm, family-like culture and strong praise for its caregiving staff. Reviewers commonly describe staff as compassionate, attentive, and team-oriented; leadership and front-office personnel are frequently identified as communicative and supportive. The facility presents as clean and well maintained, with pleasant common areas and outdoor spaces that support resident socialization.

Care quality and staffing: Clinical aspects of care are generally described positively. Families note 24/7 nursing availability, medication management, and collaborative relationships with hospice for end-of-life needs. Staff responsiveness and personal attention (calling residents by name, daily room upkeep) are recurring strengths. However, several operational themes temper the overall view: instances of staff turnover and occasional gaps in communication were cited, and some reviews point to variability in staffing levels that can affect responsiveness. There are also concerns about the consistency of bathing and toileting assistance for some residents, suggesting that personal-care schedules may not be uniformly maintained.

Dining: Dining is a widely cited strength. Reviewers describe homemade, restaurant-style meals, made-to-order breakfasts, and appealing desserts, along with the willingness of kitchen staff to accommodate dietary needs. At the same time, a number of reviewers note limited meal variety or a scaled-back menu on certain days, indicating that while food quality is generally high, menu rotation and options may be constrained at times.

Activities and social life: Sundial offers a range of social and recreational programming — concerts, bingo, church services, card and movie nights, outings, and scenic drives are mentioned. Common areas are activity-friendly and support community building. That said, activity frequency and availability appear to vary by day or wing; some visitors observed robust programming while others noted limited or no activities during their visit.

Facilities and environment: The building is described as home-like, bright, and clean, with a pleasant smell and well-kept landscaping. Rooms are generally comfortable, though room sizes are described as small in some units; layout and storage vary. Outdoor common areas and gardens are viewed positively. A few reviewers noted intermittent maintenance or odor concerns in certain common areas, which suggests periodic attention is needed for some facility upkeep tasks.

Management, costs, and services: Leadership receives positive comments for professionalism and supportive move-in transitions. Respite care and reliable short-term bed availability are strengths for families needing temporary stays. Reviewers did raise cost and pricing concerns; some mentioned extra fees for certain personal-care services (for example, showering), which may affect perceptions of value. Communication and management responsiveness are generally praised but have some variability tied to staffing turnover in certain reports.

Notable patterns and cautions: The dominant pattern is strong, person-centered caregiving and a community atmosphere that many families recommend. Areas to watch include consistency of personal-care assistance (bathing/toileting schedules), room size limitations for some units, occasional staffing and communication gaps, and memory-care safety protocols for residents with cognitive impairment. Prospective residents and families should ask specific questions about activity schedules, personal-care fee structure, staffing ratios for the intended unit, and dementia-safety measures during tours.

Bottom line: Sundial Assisted Living is frequently highlighted for its caring staff, good food, active community life, and clean, home-like environment. For families prioritizing compassionate daily care and social engagement, it rates highly; families with stronger concerns about room size, strict budget limits, or significant memory-care needs should seek clarifying information about those operational areas before making a placement decision.
