About Westborough Manor 1 - CLOSED

Westborough Manor 1 was a small, residential care home in San Bruno, California, that's now closed, but for the years it operated, it housed up to 6 residents and focused mostly on memory care for people living with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia, and the building was kept secure to help stop any wandering or confusion that can come along with these conditions, and the staff made sure to help with daily needs like bathing, dressing, moving around the place, handling medication, and even things like managing insulin and support for people who couldn't get up or move around alone, and folks always had someone awake to check on them at night since the staff worked around the clock. Residents got three home-cooked meals each day, and if someone needed a special diet for diabetes or allergies or other health issues, staff would take care of that, and there was always help for laundry, housekeeping, and even someone coming in to help with hair care right at the home. The activities calendar was usually full, with everything from movie nights and evening get-togethers, to music therapy, creative arts, pet visits, tabletop games, fitness and exercise programs, trips outside, and even spa, steam room, or fitness areas for those who wanted to use them, and there was a garden and walking paths for fresh air and relaxation. Folks could get rides to doctor's appointments, places of worship, and even run errands, with the home making arrangements for transportation, while staff also made sure each resident's care plan fit their own needs and updated them every so often, or as things changed. The care home welcomed both cats and dogs and offered help with hospice and respite care, too, as well as support for residents facing long-term illnesses or cancer, and it even had some staff who could speak English and Tagalog. Emergency alert systems, room telephones, 24-hour staff, and security setups all aimed to keep everyone safe, and the close-knit setting, along with daily events, helped people feel part of a community. Westborough Manor 1 accepted long-term care residents, provided help for people who couldn't walk, and let veterans use certain benefits, but didn't take Medicare unless it had the right certification, and although it once held licenses under a couple of different numbers and company names, today, the home is closed.
