    Clean facility with attentive staff

I toured this community and was impressed - a beautiful, very clean facility with friendly, professional staff who know residents by name. There are plenty of activities and amenities (robust dining options, on-site rehab and salon, shuttle), and the care team was attentive and accommodating to family. I'm very satisfied and would recommend it to others.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews describe a facility with many operational strengths alongside recurring operational weaknesses. Positives most consistently cited include a warm, welcoming atmosphere, visible efforts to engage residents (daily activities, musical guests, holiday programming, birthday celebrations, and frequent outings), and a well-appointed, hotel-like physical environment. Multiple accounts praise the rehabilitation services and clinical staff—skilled RNs, occupational and physical therapy—and note helpful amenities such as on-site salon services, dining assistance, shuttle service, and a dedicated memory-care director. Several families described smooth transitions and strong coordination with hospitals and outside providers.

Care quality and staff interactions are an area of contrast. Numerous reviewers praised caregivers as attentive, professional, and compassionate; several highlighted strong rehab outcomes and effective clinical teams. At the same time, a substantial body of feedback describes inconsistent staffing levels, delays in responding to call pendants, missed medication or therapy sessions, and limited nurse follow‑up. These descriptions point to variability in day-to-day clinical oversight and responsiveness: some residents receive reliable, high-quality care while others experienced gaps in service or follow-through.

Dining and activities are generally strengths but with mixed execution. Many residents enjoy frequent activities, outings, and celebratory events; activity staff receive repeated commendation for responsiveness and creativity. Dining opinions vary: some families report hotel-style meals and special dining arrangements, while others describe inconsistent food quality, limited variety, and the need to watch sodium or sugar content. The facility provides additional conveniences (on-site personal care services, multiple patios, and social programming) that enhance resident life when fully staffed and operational.

Facility and sanitation observations are also mixed. Several reviewers describe a clean, attractive environment and well-kept common areas; others noted specific cleanliness or sanitation concerns and mentioned significant water/utility problems, which in at least one account included a serious water-quality issue. Apartment sizes and layouts are sometimes smaller than expected, and a few comments indicate parts of the building could benefit from renovation or improved maintenance.

Management and administration emerge as a frequent source of concern. Reported issues include slow or unprofessional accounting and billing interactions, unexpected extra charges, and unresponsiveness to calls or emails. Interdepartmental communication gaps and perceived favoritism or HR accountability problems were also described. Conversely, a number of reviews say recent management changes energized staff and improved organization and communication. There is also mention of ownership transitions or potential closures, which introduces uncertainty for prospective residents.

Notable patterns for prospective residents and families: staffing consistency and clinical follow-through vary across stay periods; ask for current staffing ratios and pendant-response metrics. Confirm how medications, physical therapy, and nurse follow-up are scheduled and escalated. Clarify billing practices, additional fees, and any recent management or ownership changes. Visit multiple times (including mealtimes and activity periods) to assess dining quality, staff–resident interactions, and whether the facility’s current operational state matches the marketed amenities and level of care.

    About Bayshire San Dimas

Bayshire San Dimas sits on five acres with gardens and walking paths where seniors can enjoy the outdoors or stroll with pets since pets are welcome here, and the building itself has three stories with various housing options like studios, one-bedrooms, and two-bedrooms, some with accessible features, all meant to be maintenance-free so folks don't have to worry about taking care of things like they used to at home, and the campus is set up as a Continuing Care Retirement Community, or CCRC, so residents can get independent living, assisted living, memory care, or skilled nursing all in one place, which means seniors don't have to move if their care needs change. The staff, including nurses and dedicated care teams, are available 24 hours a day to help with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, or medication, and memory care services help folks with Alzheimer's or dementia in a secure, calming environment. The community offers chef-prepared meals in a dining room, with special diets and nutrition in mind, and has a beauty and barber shop on-site, making it easier for residents to look after themselves while staying put. Social activities are plentiful-people take yoga or tai chi, do crafts, enjoy devotional services, play games, go on outings, watch movies in a theater room, and sometimes you'll find them chatting or sharing a meal in one of the garden areas. Wi-Fi is available for those who want it, and transportation gets residents to errands or appointments if they need to go out. The place is certified as a verified community by Seniorly, and there's a manager dedicated to keeping all the information up to date, and all care gets planned for each resident with personal wishes and health needs in mind. The community hosts a lot of special events and wellness programs to help people feel involved and valued, with support always focused on letting residents be as independent as they can, but with help ready when they want or need it, whether that's in the independent living apartments, assisted living, memory care, or skilled nursing wings, all under the Bayshire Senior Communities name. The facility also provides home care and shared care homes for those who need extra help with daily living but wish to maintain a home-like atmosphere. On top of that, there are on-site rehab professionals, and mobile doctors, podiatrists, and dentists visit when needed. The whole place tries to keep a warm, welcoming atmosphere where folks can feel at home while getting the care and support they need. More details about programs, care options, or activities are available on their website at https://sandimasbayshire.com/.
