    Compassionate clean resident-centered memory care

I chose Crescent Landing for memory care and I'm very pleased. The staff - Simeon in particular, plus Dani and Dulce - are compassionate, knowledgeable and truly put residents first; administration is flexible and responsive. The building is bright, clean and airy with lovely gardens, great meals, and Montessori/SPARK activities that keep residents engaged; meds and care are handled professionally. I have peace of mind and highly recommend this warm, resident-centered community.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression across reviews is positive: families and visitors consistently describe compassionate, engaged caregivers and a facility that emphasizes resident dignity and social connection. Clinical leadership is visible — reviewers cite Director of Care and RN involvement — and many note 24/7 security and medication-support processes (MedTech and nurse oversight). Admissions processes are generally responsive, including the ability to facilitate rapid move-ins when necessary.

Staff quality and resident engagement are the facility’s strongest themes. Multiple accounts highlight staff who know residents by name, develop individual relationships, and organize or adapt activities to resident needs. The community offers a range of research-based engagement options (SPARK, Montessori-inspired approaches), music and movement programming, crafts, and frequent family events. Reviewers report that activity staff at times proactively create new offerings to keep residents active and involved.

Dining and daily living are generally well regarded: reviewers describe well-balanced, home-style meals, attentive servers, and comfortable dining and living spaces. The physical plant receives frequent praise — recently remodeled interiors, skylights, high ceilings, bright common areas, private and shared apartment choices, and extensively maintained grounds with walking paths and a gazebo. Infection-control practices during COVID and other health protocols were also described as professional.

Areas for prospective residents and families to probe further include staffing consistency and communication. Several accounts indicate periods when staffing levels fell short of expectations (particularly after initial admission or during staff turnover), which affected responsiveness and activity continuity. There are also notes about variable communication and occasional disagreements between family members and leadership; asking for clear points of contact, update routines, and escalation processes is advisable. Operationally, reviewers describe a mismatch at times between resident acuity and the unit mix, so clarify the unit’s typical acuity profile and whether it fits your loved one’s needs.

Safety and administrative details merit attention during tours. While the facility is praised for overall cleanliness and safety, some reviewers cited issues that suggest reviewing fall-prevention and transfer protocols, recent incident trends, and staffing ratios by shift. Also verify fee structure details and any exceptions to all-inclusive pricing so there are no billing surprises. Finally, ownership or leadership transitions have brought both improvements and temporary disruptions; ask about recent turnover, and what measures are in place to maintain program continuity during transitions.

In summary, Ivy Terrace at Santa Ana Memory Care is characterized by a warm, engaged caregiving culture, bright renovated spaces, varied activity programming, and strong outdoor amenities. The main operational considerations for families are staffing consistency, communication practices, acuity fit, and clarity on billing details — items that can largely be addressed through targeted questions during a visit and by requesting recent staffing and incident information from the administration.

About Ivy Terrace at Santa Ana Memory Care

Ivy Terrace at Santa Ana Memory Care gives people living with Alzheimer's or dementia a safe and friendly place to call home, and the Evergreen program there really focuses on memory care, so you'll see activities and therapies that support both mind and spirit-from arts and crafts, music, and gardening to daily outings and social games, all meant to help keep memories alive. They let residents have pets, which can be comforting, and the SPARK program uses Montessori-inspired ideas to make days feel meaningful, by encouraging creativity, connections, and hands-on experiences that honor a resident's identity as memory issues progress; and while there's a lovely garden and secure courtyards for walking or relaxing, staff also balance security with some freedom so folks can move around and feel at home. People get 24-hour support from care staff who learn each person's habits, and the staff includes people like nurses, visiting doctors, therapy professionals, and the care team helps with medication, personal care, and managing daily tasks based on each resident's needs. Families and friends have said it feels home-like, with a warm and welcoming feel, whether people sit together in the library, join in group fitness or yoga, enjoy chef-prepared meals, or spend quiet time with their pets, there's always a sense that staff know each person well.

The secure building has inside amenities like communal dining rooms, a library, cable TV in community spaces, and rooms come with Wi-Fi, so residents can keep in touch with loved ones, while outside, you'll find landscaped walks, park benches, and places to garden or just get some sun. Services cover a range, including pharmacy help, on-site dental or podiatry visits, and support with everything from dietary needs-offering low salt, kosher, vegetarian, and more-to laundry and housekeeping, so daily stresses are much lighter. Safety is a focus, with an emergency call system and a design that lowers confusion and prevents wandering. They offer both group and personal activities, including dancing, games, and horticultural programs, always aiming to keep everyone's mind, body, and spirit engaged, and for those times when people need more medical care, there are long-term and skilled nursing options, Medicare-certified home health, and hospice care available, all under a licensed, recognized program (RCFE license #306006018) known for its quality and caring staff who truly help people live as fully as possible, even as memory changes.
