    Attentive, personal care and comfort

I'm very pleased with Gracious Living - a beautiful, home-like facility with caring, respectful, and responsive staff and hands-on owners (Paul and Dave). The low caregiver-to-resident ratio, an on-site administrator who checks in frequently, helpful enrollment process and virtual tour made things easy for our family and gave us trust and peace of mind. Clean, comfortable common areas, patios and a pool add to the quality of life; I'd recommend it for attentive, personal care.

    Summary of reviews

Gracious Living Assisted Living presents as a well-appointed, home-like facility with several operational strengths alongside notable inconsistencies. Physically, reviewers describe an attractive property with patios, a pool, and recently remodeled private rooms; many families found the interior clean and comfortable. Admissions and family-facing logistics are frequently described as helpful, with virtual-tour options and accessible, hands-on ownership and onsite administration that several families cited as reassuring.

Care quality and clinical oversight show mixed impressions. Positive comments highlight a low caregiver-to-resident ratio, attentive staff who maintain grooming and basic care for some residents, and responsiveness in many day-to-day situations. However, other families described declines after admission and conveyed concerns about clinical monitoring and post-admission outcomes. These divergent accounts suggest variability in clinical follow-up and care consistency across different residents or shifts.

Staff and management receive largely favorable attention for approachability and involvement: named staff and owners are praised for being personable and responsive, and the onsite administrator is noted as checking in frequently. At the same time, reviewers reported uneven staff performance and responsiveness, indicating variability in how reliably staff meet family expectations. This pattern points to differences in experience depending on which staff are assigned or the timing of visits.

Dining and programming are areas with repeated critique. Meals are often characterized as bland or lacking seasoning, with menu and meal-quality consistency cited as concerns. Organized activities are described as limited; while some families appreciated quality-of-life conversations and a generally calm environment, the facility may not offer a robust activity schedule for residents seeking higher levels of engagement.

Facility condition and operations are otherwise strengths, but ongoing construction was mentioned as a source of disruption and may affect short-term resident experience. Cleanliness and resident presentation were praised in some accounts and questioned in others, producing an overall impression of variability rather than a uniform standard. There are also isolated, serious family concerns following a resident's death that prompted questions about clinical communication and follow-up.

In summary, Gracious Living appears to offer a pleasant physical environment, engaged ownership, and numerous staff who provide attentive, personal care. Prospective residents and families should weigh those strengths against variability in care consistency, activity programming, and meal quality. When considering this facility, it may be helpful to ask about current staffing patterns, clinical oversight procedures, the activity calendar, menu samples, and the timeline for any ongoing construction, and to conduct multiple visits at different times of day to assess consistency firsthand.

    About Gracious Living. Assisted Living

Gracious Living. Assisted Living sits in North Upland, California, offering care in three small homes, each with space for up to six residents, so everyone gets more attention and feels like they're really at home and not lost in a crowd, and these houses have a familiar feel meant to support comfort and security, with rooms set up so folks can move around safely and easily. Staff stay on-site twenty-four hours a day, so there's always someone nearby if a resident needs help with things like bathing, dressing, or just getting up; they also handle medication management and help people who need memory care, incontinence care, non-ambulatory care, or high acuity care. There's a medical director with a focus in geriatric care who visits the facility, while the "Total Care Solution" covers arranging doctor visits, medication refills and delivery, access to dieticians, help with transportation to appointments or errands, and even other small but important tasks. Folks get to choose between private and semi-private rooms, and all rooms have private baths and wheelchair accessible showers to keep things easy no matter someone's mobility, plus many have air-conditioning, phones, internet, and cable to help residents keep in touch and comfortable. Shared living spaces, comfortable lounges, and outdoor areas encourage socializing or relaxation, and walking paths, a garden, and a swimming pool invite people outside for some fresh air. The staff plans a good mix of activities-movie nights, arts and crafts, exercise classes, outings around town, and even off-site or devotional events-which keeps everyone involved, while housekeeping, laundry, and linen services mean no one has to worry about cleaning up after themselves. Meals are made using organic ingredients when possible, and kitchen staff pay attention to both nutrition and any dietary restrictions; those meals are served family-style in dining rooms, making it feel like a small gathering instead of a cafeteria line. There's a hair salon for grooming needs, and transportation for seniors to get around town or go to their appointments, and parking is available for those who still drive or receive visitors. The community operates with a focus on keeping each person independent as long as possible, so staff only step in with tasks residents can't do by themselves; this means each person gets the daily help they need but has privacy and dignity, and care is always tailored for the individual. Established in 2011 and state licensed (license numbers 366425531 and 361881041), Gracious Living. Assisted Living sticks with a straightforward approach-personalized assisted living and memory care in a small, home-like place where both residents and families find a little peace of mind.
