I moved my mom here and I'm very pleased. The staff are amazing-caring, attentive and bilingual-and even responded quickly when she fell; Nurse Claudia and the managers were professional and helpful. Meals are good and plentiful, activities are engaging (bus trips, movies, karaoke, prayer groups), the facility and grounds are very clean, and residents are friendly-I recommend this community.

Summary of reviews
Overall impression: Country View Assisted Living is consistently described as a community with caring, responsive staff and well-kept grounds. Families and visitors commonly praise the direct-care team, bilingual personnel, and on-site clinical staff for attentiveness and professionalism. The facility's cleanliness, courtyard, and entertainment amenities (including a small theater and large activity/dining rooms) are repeatedly noted as strengths, and recent landscaping and renovation efforts have been viewed positively.
Care and staff: Reviewers emphasize compassionate caregiving and professional nursing support. Staff are characterized as friendly, hardworking, and culturally/linguistically diverse, with specific appreciation for Spanish-speaking team members. There are positive accounts of timely emergency response and helpful administrative interactions. At the same time, reviewers describe variability in staffing consistency and after-hours responsiveness; families expressed the need for additional staff coverage and noted occasional uneven performance on off-shift phone responses.
Dining: Feedback about meals is mixed. Some families and residents report good, plentiful food and enjoyable dining experiences; others raise concerns about limited variety, high-carbohydrate/salty items, and what they describe as low-effort meal options. The dining room and cafeteria spaces are generally described as spacious but sometimes dim, and some visitors indicated they did not observe freshly prepared options during tours.
Activities and engagement: The community provides a broad range of activities — exercise classes, movies, trips, prayer and TV groups, karaoke, singing, and reading to residents among them — and several accounts highlight active resident participation. However, engagement levels appear uneven: while some residents are described as very involved and content, others find programming less stimulating. The population trend toward longer‑term, older residents may contribute to a quieter overall atmosphere in parts of the facility.
Facilities and environment: The building is an older, long-standing structure undergoing phased renovations. Grounds and exterior upkeep receive positive mention, but interior concerns recur: small, often shared rooms; darker, low-lit corridors and common areas; and renovation-related disruption. Indoor air-quality issues are raised, including tobacco and cannabis odor exposures and associated asthma concerns. The facility’s smoking policy and designated smoking areas appear to allow odor migration into resident spaces based on reviewer observations.
Management, access, and cost: Administrative staff and the director are described as pleasant and knowledgeable, and the facility maintains a waiting list indicating steady demand. Several families cited favorable move-in pricing at the time of admission, with the expectation that rates may change. Tour experiences vary; some visitors reported limited information during tours or no empty rooms to view. Overall, the dominant pattern is of a clean, well-staffed community with strengths in caregiver relationships and amenities, offset by operational issues around room size and configuration, lighting and indoor air quality, meal consistency, and staffing reliability. Prospective residents and families should weigh the supportive caregiving and active amenity set against the facility’s older infrastructure, shared-room model, and the potential for variable food and staffing experiences.

About Country View Assisted Living
Country View Assisted Living sits in West Covina, California, and helps adults 55 and over with care that fits their needs. This place offers private or shared rooms, with choices like studio, semi-private, and two-bedroom units. Some residents have private bedrooms and baths or unfurnished studio apartments that they can decorate with furniture and keepsakes from home, which helps them feel comfortable and settled. The community supports up to 136 residents and is set up to feel close-knit, even though it has space for a larger group. Staff speak mostly Spanish, and many residents do too, making it good for Spanish-speaking seniors.
There's a focus on safety, with 24-hour staff and emergency call systems in every room, as well as 12 to 16 hours of nursing support daily. Caregivers help with daily needs like bathing, dressing, walking, moving from bed to wheelchair, and bathroom assistance, but folks who need help with incontinence must manage it themselves. Staff can help residents remember or take their medicines, assist with insulin monitoring for diabetics, and offer standby support for those who need help moving but can't administer insulin shots. Respite care is available for families needing short-term help.
Country View Assisted Living keeps residents active with daily fitness classes, games, group outings, music programs, movie nights, and devotional services both on and off site. People eat together in a dining room that serves homestyle meals, including diabetic-friendly options, and snacks throughout the day. Meals come prepared, which saves residents time and trouble, and there are options for special diets as needed. Common areas inside offer spaces for reading, socializing, and playing games like billiards, while landscaped outdoor paths, walking gardens, and courtyards provide room to enjoy fresh air.
The community provides a range of services like laundry, housekeeping, and transportation to doctor's appointments and local shops, since it's only a short walk from stores, pharmacies, hospitals, and churches. Staff residents to meals and activities, and there are structured programs to keep minds and bodies busy. There's a beauty salon and spa onsite, Wi-Fi for those who want it, cozy reading nooks, and business rooms for leisure or work. Pets aren't allowed, and rules about deposits and how rooms are shared or private are explained when you ask.
For those needing memory care, assisted living, or even short-term stays, care plans adjust as needs change, so residents can stay as independent as possible for as long as possible. The grounds are tidy, peaceful, and have a relaxed, friendly feeling, letting seniors enjoy both privacy and community. The area is lively, with a rich culture, and the design of Country View Assisted Living tries to give everyone a safe, social, and comfortable place to age with dignity.
