    Small home feels like family

I chose this small, private eight-resident home and have been very pleased. The owners and staff are loving, hands-on, and provide top-notch, 24-hour care with hospice support-my mom is treated like family, gets personalized attention, nutritious nicely plated meals, and regular photo/video updates. The place is clean, cozy and wheelchair-accessible with a mountain-view deck, live music and celebrations that make it feel like home; it exceeded my expectations, though it's more intimate than a large institution.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews portray Healing Hands Assisted Living as a small, private, residential home that emphasizes a family-style approach to long-term care. Care quality is characterized by close, personalized relationships between staff and residents: reviewers describe attentive, compassionate caregivers who provide 24-hour support and are engaged in end-of-life care when needed. Nursing oversight and hospice nurse visits are noted, indicating access to clinical input alongside hands-on caregiver attention.

Staffing and management are presented as strengths in terms of person-centeredness and communication. The facility appears to be owner- and caregiver-run with regular family meetings and frequent updates—often including photos and videos—which families identify as reassuring. Reviewers consistently highlight warm interactions, genuine relationships, and staff who check in regularly; this pattern suggests a stable culture of individualized attention rather than a high-volume institutional model.

Dining and activities are prominent positive themes. Meals are described as nutritious, well-plated, and tailored to residents’ preferences. Activity programming includes live musicians, library visits, birthday and holiday celebrations, and other social events that reinforce engagement and a communal atmosphere. These elements contribute to the home's characterization as cozy and celebratory rather than clinical.

The physical environment is small, clean, and peaceful, with accessible features such as a wheelchair-friendly layout and a mountain-view deck. The limited size (eight residents) supports close supervision and a homelike feel, and reviewers note that the facility is a convenient location for daily visits.

Notable patterns and potential trade-offs: the small, owner-operated model supports personalized care and lower cost, but it also implies operational limits compared with larger facilities. Reviewers’ descriptions suggest restricted on-site access to specialized therapies or extensive medical services, limited private-space options because of shared common areas, and a dependency on owner-managed staffing that could create continuity challenges if staffing changes occur. Prospective residents and families should weigh the benefits of individualized attention, close family communication, and engaging social programming against potential limitations in specialized clinical resources and breadth of amenities typical of larger institutions.

    About Healing Hands Assisted Living

Healing Hands Assisted Living sits in Aurora, CO, offering services for those needing help with daily activities but wanting to keep some independence, and they've chosen a cozy two-story building where people can pick either a private or shared room, which some folks like if they want more company, and others might like a bit of solitude-they've got healthy meals tailored to what each resident needs and likes, so eating is both pleasant and good for you, plus residents find both indoor and outdoor spaces quite comfortable, with the outdoors being especially pretty and peaceful if someone just wants a breath of fresh air or a quiet moment. They take a family-centered approach, focusing on every individual, and they've built their care around things like respect and empathy, which makes people feel at home and treated kindly, and you'll see plenty of life enrichment activities that get everyone moving, thinking, or socializing, whether it's games, gardening, exercise, or heading to the library, so there's always something to keep hands and minds busy, and they also help out with transportation and get everyone involved in community events when possible. Residents get support through health and wellness programs, 24/7 round-the-clock help, and in-house physical and occupational therapy; and if someone needs a little more, there's a home health agency component and emergency services, so care continues even if things change. Their approach centers on each resident's comfort, safety, and well-being-they make care plans for every person, check in often, and pay attention to a wide range of needs, whether they're physical, emotional, or even spiritual, and you'll find a good staff-to-patient ratio, which helps everyone get the care and attention they need. Periodic check-ins, vital signs monitoring, and services like dietary planning or transportation get taken care of, and they also encourage independence while making sure help is there, and their life enrichment program helps people make the most of each day through activities, outings, and good meals. There's a health library, a behavioral health recovery center, and interactive tools like a symptom checker, making it easy for residents to learn about health topics or take an active part in their own care, and their core values include communication, professionalism, and altruism, showing through in the day-to-day way things are run at Healing Hands Assisted Living, where the goal really is to help residents feel comfortable, safe, and engaged without overwhelming anyone with too many rules or too much fuss.
