    Spotless caring facility, excellent staff

I moved my mother here and I'm very pleased - the facility is spotless and feels like home. Staff are consistently kind, respectful and attentive; nurses, CNAs and administration are professional, compassionate and great with families. Meals are high-quality with lots of variety, and rehab/therapy, transportation, laundry and other services are reliable; there's a warm, family-like atmosphere and real improvement under new management.

    Summary of reviews

Progressive Care Center elicits a mixed but specific pattern of strengths and operational weaknesses. Strengths center on the people and basic services: reviewers consistently describe a caregiving culture that many families find compassionate and professional, with nurses and CNAs who are personable and committed. Rehabilitation and physical-therapy services are repeatedly praised for contributing to faster recoveries, and administrative support for placement and insurance questions is frequently noted. The facility's dining, housekeeping, laundry, and transportation services are commonly cited as reliable; meals are described as varied and high quality, and the building is generally characterized as clean and well maintained. The center also appears versatile, accommodating both short-term rehab stays and longer-term residents, and it is viewed as pet- and family-friendly by many families.

Operationally, the most consistent concern is staffing. Reviewers describe chronic understaffing that translates into long wait times for assistance, rushed caregiving, and inconsistent completion of routine personal-care tasks such as bathing and clothing management. Related safety and clinical-process issues include transfer-safety practices that families find problematic, inconsistent adherence to prescribed therapy plans, and gaps in clinical follow-up (for example, wound-care communication and care-plan updates). Incontinence-care delays and other personal-care inconsistencies were raised often enough to suggest these are system-level issues rather than isolated events. Roommate placement and matching for residents with restlessness or behavioral needs is another recurring area of difficulty, and the facility is not recommended by some reviewers for residents requiring advanced dementia or Parkinson's care.

Communication and management are mixed. Several families praise an attentive administration, informative care meetings, and staff who follow through on requests; others describe poor phone accessibility and unreliable family communication. There are also comments indicating operational disruption tied to contract transitions and concerns about corporate/for-profit priorities, which some feel have affected culture and continuity. A subset of reviewers indicate positive change under newer management, suggesting improvements may be underway, but other accounts point to persistent issues that require further management attention.

For prospective residents and families: Progressive Care Center may be a good option for short-term rehabilitation or for individuals who will benefit from active therapy programs, good dining, and a supportive, family-like staff culture when staffing is adequate. Families placing residents with advanced cognitive or mobility needs should assess current staffing levels, transfer protocols, incontinence-care procedures, and roommate-assignment practices before committing. Confirming how the facility manages clinical follow-up, family communication (including phone accessibility), and activity programming will help align expectations with the facility's operational realities.

    About Progressive Care Center

Progressive Care Center is a nursing home right next to St. Thomas More Hospital in Caรฑon City, Colorado, and people around here know it for its full range of services for seniors who need different kinds of help, whether that's incontinence care, short-term rehab, long-term skilled nursing, memory care for those with Alzheimer's or dementia, or care at the end of life. The center's connected with Centura Health and takes part in community programs for health equity, making sure all residents get fair treatment and support, and the staff work hard to treat everyone with kindness and respect, taking time to create personal care plans for each person instead of just using a one-size-fits-all approach. Residents get support from a highly trained medical team and have access to activities that help keep them active and involved, with daily life enrichment and therapy programs that go beyond basic care to try and boost everyone's mood, abilities, and independence as much as possible.

The place itself has secure outdoor spaces with trees, walking paths, and places to sit, and inside there are comfortable living areas meant to feel homey and welcoming, not clinical. Visiting is allowed 24 hours a day, though there are health protocols in place, and staff keep up with vaccinations to keep residents safe. The community encourages family members to help plan care, and caregivers get ongoing training so they know the best ways to help, especially for residents with special needs, and there's a virtual tour on their website to show what things look like. Along with regular care, there are respite options to give family members who provide care a break when they need it. The center's non-profit operation focuses on equity and access, offering resources and education for underserved groups and aiming to remove any health barriers that might stop people from getting what they need. It's well recognized in the field, has earned awards and certifications, and is managed by Frontline Management with a focus on kindness, community, and making sure residents feel valued. Whether someone needs just a little help with things now and then, or around-the-clock medical supervision, Progressive Care Center aims to cover those needs, and the variety of care levels means that both independent adults aged 55+ and folks needing more consistent skilled nursing can find supportive housing or care here, along with specialized help for those living with memory loss.
