    Spotless attentive family dementia care

I placed my mother here and am very pleased overall. The small, family-run home is spotless and well kept, staff and management are warm, attentive and hands-on (they even helped with hospital pickup), and there's 24-hour RN coverage with strong dementia/Alzheimer's care. Meals are nutritious, visiting is easy, and my mother truly feels at home - I would recommend them.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment: Reviews for Country Rest Home are overwhelmingly positive. Multiple reviewers give top marks across the board and emphasize consistently that residents receive excellent, high-quality care. The dominant themes are a highly competent and caring staff, a clean and well-maintained facility, responsive family-style management, and an environment that feels warm and home-like. Many reviewers explicitly state they are very satisfied or would highly recommend the facility.

Care quality and staffing: Reviewers repeatedly praise the competency and attentiveness of staff. Descriptions such as fantastic staff, gentle and efficient caregivers, and staff that actively interact with residents appear throughout the summaries. Families note that staff keep them informed and are involved in transitions of care (for example, helping with hospital pickup), which suggests strong communication and operational responsiveness. The presence of 24-hour RN coverage and a stated focus on dementia/Alzheimer’s care are important clinical strengths highlighted by multiple reviewers; these details indicate the home is equipped to manage higher-acuity needs and cognitive care with experienced personnel.

Facilities and setting: The physical environment is described as clean, spotless, and well-kept, with reviewers calling out a nice-looking inside and a beautiful outside in a country setting. The small, intimate size of the facility is presented as a positive for many — contributing to a family-like atmosphere and easy access for visitors. One reviewer notes the facility is "not as attractive as other communities," so while cleanliness and upkeep are strong, aesthetic comparisons to larger or more modern communities may be a relative shortcoming for some prospective families.

Dining and daily life: Meal quality is consistently noted as a positive; reviewers say residents are well-fed and describe the food as nutritious. While reviewers highlight the warmth and welcoming nature of the staff and the feeling that residents "feel at home," there is limited specific commentary in these summaries about activities, social programming, or the breadth of recreational offerings. That absence suggests either these items are unremarkable relative to staffing and clinical care, or that reviewers focused their comments primarily on care, cleanliness, and management responsiveness.

Management and ownership: Multiple comments stress responsive, committed, and available management and ownership. The facility being a private family-run business is emphasized as contributing to a caring culture and hands-on leadership. Reviewers explicitly reference helpful management and a wonderful director, which aligns with other notes about communication and timely involvement in residents' needs.

Patterns and considerations: Repeated praise across independent reviewers establishes a clear pattern of strong person-centered care, cleanliness, and family-style management. Potential concerns are limited and mostly comparative: one mention that the facility is not as attractive as other communities, and the small size may not appeal to those seeking a larger campus with more extensive amenities. Also, because these summaries focus heavily on care, staff, and cleanliness, prospective families who prioritize expansive activity calendars, modern luxury amenities, or larger social communities should verify those specifics during a tour.

Bottom line: Country Rest Home appears to excel at attentive, competent caregiving, dementia-capable services, cleanliness, and responsive family-management in a small, country setting. These strengths make it particularly appealing for families seeking a warm, home-like environment with clinical oversight. Prospective residents should confirm aesthetic preferences and the scope of activities if those are high priorities, but for quality of care and personalized attention the reviews are uniformly positive.

    About Country Rest Home

Country Rest Home sits about 12 miles from Milford, Delaware, out where the land feels peaceful, and you'll find the kind of staff who bring a steady kindness, always ready to help, with a culture where friendliness matters, making it a warm place for folks who live there. They've got different options for people, including independent living, assisted living, and memory care, with support for everyone from those who just want a bit of help to those who need total care, and you'll find care homes as well for seniors needing round-the-clock assistance in a shared home setting. Their licensed Intermediate Care Facility offers private and semi-private rooms, and they've got caregivers on duty all day and night, so someone's always around to help with things like bathing, dressing, or managing medicines, and there's a physician available if medical problems come up.

Country Rest Home pays attention to meals, with chefs and dietitians planning three balanced meals each day, plus snacks, trying to keep the food both healthy and satisfying, and they look after chores like laundry, maintenance, and housekeeping-all folded into a monthly rate that tries to stay affordable. There's a wide mix of activities every week to occupy minds and bodies, including games, social events, and outings for those who want to keep active, along with spaces lit bright for visiting or spending time with friends and family. Memory care services are there for folks with Alzheimer's or dementia, focused on safe environments with support to reduce confusion and keep people from wandering, and there's dementia care available for short-term stays too. Transportation helps residents get to appointments or shopping, and there's parking for those who drive.

Extra features include an on-site beauty shop, regular laundry, and complete pharmacy service, plus lab and x-ray if those are ever needed. Faith is part of daily life too, with a Christian perspective guiding care and a family atmosphere among staff and residents. Mark and Polly Yoder own and run the place, and the staff pride themselves on bringing a nurturing touch. Whether someone needs respite care for a few weeks or longer-term nursing help, Country Rest Home tries to shape its services to what each resident needs, offering independent and assisted living cottages, memory care, home care, nursing care, and residential care homes, all set in tidy grounds made to welcome people with safety and comfort in mind.
