    Attentive compassionate care, homelike environment

I placed my mom here two years ago and have been very pleased. The staff treat residents like family - nursing is attentive (the lead nurse keeps meds and appointments on track) and management is helpful and courteous. The community feels home-like, clean, and safe with 24/7 medical coverage, lots of activities and outings my mom loved, and friendly, responsive caregivers. I feel comfortable leaving her in their care and would recommend this place.

    Summary of reviews

Cloudberry Lodge elicits consistently positive comments about interpersonal care and resident experience. Many families describe staff who are compassionate, attentive, and treat residents in a family-like manner; nursing staff and a lead nurse are specifically praised for medication oversight, appointment coordination, and daily attentiveness. The facility is noted for an active life-enrichment program that includes regular social events and outings, and for maintaining neat, homey resident rooms. Several reviewers also highlighted convenient location, outdoor space, and round-the-clock clinical availability as meaningful strengths for long-term stays.

At the same time, several operational and physical-plant issues recur. The building is described as older with visible deferred maintenance; reviewers referenced stained carpets, an antiseptic smell in places, and outdoor areas or parking with construction rubble or under-maintenance surfaces. There are also isolated pest-control concerns. Cleanliness appears uneven — many noted clean, well-kept rooms and dining areas, while others pointed to localized sanitation and odor concerns in common spaces. Prospective residents should inspect both rooms and shared spaces during a tour.

Staffing and clinical coordination show mixed signals. Numerous accounts praise dedicated, caring employees and responsive management; others describe staff turnover, inconsistent caregiver presence, and variability in skill or experience levels. Medication administration and pharmacy logistics are another area of inconsistency: attentive medication management was praised in some reports, while others described gaps in pharmacy ordering or use of a preferred pharmacy. Dining received middling marks overall, with some positive comments about community meals and food service but also notes of variability in meal quality.

Cost and leadership transitions are additional considerations. Several families cited pricing and affordability concerns relative to the facility’s physical condition; at least one note referenced a recent sale and new ownership, and some reviews mention planned renovations under new management while others express uncertainty about the change. Overall pattern: strong relational care and an active community culture, tempered by an aging facility, operational inconsistencies (staffing, pharmacy/dining), and transitional ownership. Recommended next steps for prospective families are an in-person tour focused on cleanliness, pest-control documentation, staffing ratios and staff training, pharmacy and medication processes, dining samples, and a discussion of renovation timelines and current ownership plans.
