    Impressed by compassionate, well-managed care

I moved my mom in and was very impressed: the move-in was easy and communication was clear and responsive. Staff are kind, compassionate, patient and hands-on - Angel in memory care and the dining team (Chef Moss) stood out. The new building and sunny apartments are beautiful, activities are engaging, and meals are varied and delicious. It feels like a resident-first, well-managed community that gives me real peace of mind.

    Summary of reviews

The Grove at Countryside is consistently described as a newly built, upscale senior living community with resort-like finishes and a bright, hotel-style design. Reviewers frequently praise the facility’s physical environment — including spacious apartments, an attractive lobby, and well-appointed common areas — as well as on-site amenities such as a gym and physical-therapy suite. The central, park-like campus and thoughtfully designed social spaces support communal interaction and a pleasant day-to-day atmosphere.

Caring and engaged staff are another clear strength. Many families and prospective residents describe staff as compassionate, attentive, and welcoming; move-in processes and initial transitions are often characterized as smooth and supportive. There is specific appreciation for dedicated memory-care leadership and for clinical coverage cited as around-the-clock nursing presence in some accounts, which contributes to a sense of safety for families.

Dining and culinary services receive mixed but prominently positive commentary. Several accounts highlight strong culinary leadership, varied menus, and high-quality meals with personal touches from the dining staff. At the same time, there are recurring operational concerns: inconsistencies between posted menus and served items, occasional shortages of basic foods, and lapses in dining-room service such as delayed bussing and cleanliness issues. These points suggest a capable culinary program whose execution can be uneven during service periods.

Programming and social life are generally viewed positively for on-site offerings — painting, holiday events, and table-based social interaction are cited as enjoyable — yet there are also notes about limited transportation for off-site outings and a perceived lack of certain types of activities for some residents. This pattern points to strong on-campus social opportunities with opportunities to expand off-site engagement and transportation options.

Operational and management patterns are the most mixed area. While some reviewers commend hands-on leadership, transparent communication from sales staff, and a resident-first approach, others describe high employee turnover, short-staffing, micromanagement, and concerns about leadership transparency or follow-through on promises. There are also mentions of opening-phase maintenance issues and isolated infrastructure problems. Several reviews imply that staffing and management stability will be key to sustaining the facility’s strengths as the community moves from opening into regular operations.

Overall, The Grove at Countryside offers an attractive physical environment, a strong culinary identity, and many examples of compassionate direct-care staff. Prospective residents and families should weigh those strengths against operational considerations: verify current staffing levels and turnover, ask about dining-service standards and quality-control processes, and clarify transportation and off-site-activity schedules. For those prioritizing a modern, high-end setting with active on-site programming, the community appears promising; families who prioritize consistently executed clinical operations and reliable off-site programming should conduct targeted follow-up on the operational items noted above.

    About The Grove at Countryside

The Grove at Countryside is a new senior living community in Clearwater, Florida, finished in 2024 and managed by Starling, and you'll find 126 units spread across modern three-story buildings, with options from a simple studio to roomy one- or two-bedroom apartments that range in size from 356.6 up to 872 square feet.
