    Small family atmosphere, caring staff

I'm very happy here - the caring staff and small, family-like atmosphere make me feel safe and truly cared for. Their dementia-friendly approach has been a blessing, and this facility is so much better than the places I was at before. I'm grateful to the team and would recommend it as a very good option.

    About Caring Hands

Caring Hands Adult Family Care Home in Deltona, Florida, has been serving seniors since 1997, and you'll find that it sits in a quiet community where people can feel safe and comfortable, and really what they do is provide a full range of care options, so people can get long-term care, skilled nursing, assisted living, independent living, hospice, home care, respite care, and adult day services all in one place, which is nice for families who want to keep their loved ones in the same setting even as needs change. The home follows a residential style, with shared and private rooms that look over a well-kept backyard, and you can also find a family room, living areas, kitchen, dining room, porch, and there's always a place to sit for a meal or relax in a quiet corner, and they don't make it feel like a hospital because it's set up more like a real house.

There's a licensed practical nurse, Marie Timogene, with more than 20 years of experience in senior care, who leads the staff, and they work 24 hours a day so someone is always available, and there's a doctor on call, plus visiting nurses and therapists like podiatrists and occupational therapists, and the team oversees medication and injections, wound care, meal plans-even vegetarian meals-and provides help with dressing, walking, bathing, and toileting, which is good if someone needs a lot of help or just a little supervision. The home is well secured, so people who wander, especially with dementia or Alzheimer's, can be safe, and they use bracelets that ring an alarm if someone tries to leave, and the separate memory care section has its own building with safety features just for those with memory issues.

When it comes to daily life there are three well-balanced meals each day, with snacks, and everything is home-cooked, and residents can take part in activities like arts, crafts, educational programs, cognitive games, devotional services, and field trips, plus there's transportation when needed for appointments or errands, and the staff plans group activities both onsite and away from the home. There are amenities like WiFi, cable TV, a fitness area, a salon/barbershop, washer and dryers, kitchens, and private or semi-private rooms, including studio, single, and two-bedroom choices, all with wheelchair-accessible showers or full tubs, which meets different needs for comfort and mobility.

Caring Hands sets individualized care plans so residents get the right amount of help as they age, whether they're fairly independent or need in-depth care, and the staff offers reminders and supervision for daily routines, including grooming, eating, and taking medicine. There's support for people recovering from illness or needing hospice care, and respite care is available if families want short-term help. Memory care here means routines, activities, and safety measures are in place for those with Alzheimer's or dementia, and behavioral care and support are provided if needed. You can find published prices for each room type, and the community welcomes new residents with assessments and tours, including virtual visits. The home stays connected and keeps policies up to date, like move-in steps and waiting lists, so things stay organized and people know what to expect.
