    Excellent short-term rehab, caring staff

I stayed here for short-term rehab and was very pleased. The staff were consistently friendly and caring-CNAs, nurses and social services really helped-and the therapy team exceeded my expectations; the gym and PT/OT got me moving again. Rooms and public areas were spotless, the grounds pleasant, and meals were good. Overall a recovery-focused, comforting place that gave my family peace of mind.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews describe a facility with a pronounced split between a highly rated rehabilitation program and recurring operational weaknesses. The therapy departments — physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech — receive consistent praise for clinical skill, individualized plans, a well-equipped gym, and measurable recovery outcomes. Multiple accounts cite therapists and specific therapy staff as key strengths, and many residents make notable functional gains during short-term stays.

Clinical-care observations are mixed. While aides and several nurses are described as compassionate and effective, reviewers also describe inconsistent nursing coverage, long response times to call bells, and examples of delayed or incorrectly administered medications. These issues appear to be linked in multiple accounts to staffing shortages and variability across shifts. Families commonly report needing to advocate for routine care tasks and follow-up. There are recurring concerns about incontinence-care delays, wound-care practices, and gaps in monitoring that point to systemic reliability problems in basic nursing functions.

Dining and nutrition receive both praise and criticism. Many reviewers compliment the variety and portion sizes of meals and note staff willingness to accommodate preferences after they are identified. At the same time, there are frequent accounts of inconsistent meal timing, cold or late deliveries, and failures to follow dietary restrictions for medical conditions. Food-service sanitation and utensil cleanliness are also raised as intermittent concerns.

Housekeeping and facility maintenance are described as variable by location and shift. Several reviewers report clean, well-kept units and excellent housekeeping staff; others describe sanitation and infection-control concerns in certain common areas and bathrooms, pest-control issues around food-service stations, rusted or malfunctioning equipment, and lapses in linen and supply availability. Heating, ventilation and air-conditioning repairs and delayed maintenance responses are noted in multiple reports.

Management, communication and administrative coordination are frequent themes. Families describe both strong, helpful social-work staff and repeated difficulties with discharge paperwork, medication reconciliation, insurance coordination, and billing. Communication gaps between departments (nursing, therapy, social services, and business/finance) are repeatedly cited, and variability across wings or shifts suggests inconsistent leadership oversight. A number of accounts reference regulatory or complaint activity and serious adverse outcomes; these are described as isolated but serious and bolster concerns about consistency of oversight.

Overall pattern: the facility offers a high-quality rehabilitation environment with skilled therapists and meaningful activity options, but persistent operational weaknesses reduce reliability of basic nursing care, housekeeping, dietary management, and administrative coordination. Prospective residents and families should plan an in-person tour that includes inspection of the specific unit and shifts being considered, direct questions about staffing ratios, medication-safety processes, infection-control practices, pest-control measures, dietary accommodations, and discharge/billing workflows, and should request names of primary contacts for escalation if issues arise.
