    Attentive staff, clean facility, recommended

I'm very pleased with my loved one's stay - the nurses, CNAs, therapists and social services (Santana, Amy, Ashley) were attentive, warm and truly felt like family. Clean, well-kept facility with strong rehab, smooth admissions, engaging activities and clear communication - a very good option I would recommend.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews describe a facility with substantial variability in experience. Many families and residents praised the human side of care: nurses, CNAs, therapists, and social workers are frequently described as compassionate, attentive, and effective. Multiple accounts highlight strong rehabilitation services, engaged therapy staff, and social-work coordination that supported transitions and family communication. Admissions and front-desk personnel also receive positive mention for helping create a smooth intake process for some residents. Several reviewers noted active programming (ice-cream socials, church services, singers, bingo) and named activity staff who are enthusiastic and engaging.

Counterbalancing those positive accounts are consistent operational concerns. Staffing variability and apparent short-staffing are a recurring theme; this is linked to long call-bell response times, missed assistance, and delays in routine care. Several reviews describe lapses in medication administration and clinical follow-up, as well as inconsistencies in incontinence care and pressure-injury prevention practices. Housekeeping and sanitation practices are uneven across units, and some families raised odor and cleanliness concerns that affected perceptions of the environment.

Dining and nutrition receive mixed evaluations: some reviewers enjoyed the food and activity-related dining events, while others reported missed meals, lack of fresh produce, and dietary accommodations not always implemented. The building itself is described as older and in need of maintenance in areas such as heating and phone/communication systems; specific accounts of cold rooms and temperature-control problems indicate infrastructure limitations that can affect comfort and safety.

Communication and care coordination are additional areas of variability. While some families experienced clear, proactive communication and daily medical oversight, others encountered poor discharge planning, absence of post-discharge follow-up, and limited responsiveness from leadership on grievances. There are also concerns about personal-item security and inventory controls that families felt needed stronger processes.

Taken together, the pattern suggests a facility where staff members often provide compassionate, clinically effective careโ€”especially in therapy and social-work functionsโ€”but where systemic issues (staffing consistency, housekeeping standards, medication and wound-prevention practices, infrastructure maintenance, and discharge coordination) create significant variability in resident experiences. Prospective residents and families should weigh the strong interpersonal and therapy strengths against the operational weaknesses, and consider asking targeted questions about staffing ratios, infection control and sanitation protocols, meal-service continuity, discharge planning, and temperature-control systems during a tour or pre-admission discussion.

About North Campus Rehabilitation & Nursing Center

North Campus Rehabilitation & Nursing Center sits in Leesburg, Florida, and folks know it as a place with a strong focus on nursing care and rehabilitation for seniors, so if someone needs help with daily tasks like bathing, eating, dressing, or taking their medicine, there's always a nurse or trained staff around, because the facility is a certified Skilled Nursing Facility meeting standards for Medicaid and Medicare, and the staff offers 24-hour care overseen by a doctor, sometimes for short-term rehab and sometimes, if someone can't live safely at home, for long-term care. The center has 90 beds, and people can find information about amenities, assistance options, and care services, which include help with meals, housekeeping, laundry services, medication management, and wound care, plus rehabilitation from therapists and nurses, so families don't have to guess what's offered. Residents get meals and snacks, there are daily activities to keep minds and bodies active, and even counseling and support groups, because caring for seniors includes more than medical help. There are specific programs for seniors with Alzheimer's or dementia in the Memory Care section, but those often cost more, though government programs like Medicaid or Veterans Aid & Attendance can sometimes help pay for it. Besides skilled nursing and rehab, the place offers Independent Living for active seniors, Assisted Living for those who need a little help, Home Care, Adult Day Services, Hospice Care, and Medicare-certified Home Health Care, though North Campus doesn't post its current prices for long-term or skilled nursing, so families need to ask. There's a map to help folks find the location, and the staffing levels, while slightly below average, do earn the center an overall rating of 3.0, with health inspections marked as average, but the quality measures come in above average, which might give some peace of mind. North Campus Rehab & Nursing Center is Medicare and Medicaid certified, considered a Fair Housing & Equal Opportunity Provider, and is staffed by skilled professionals who try to be kind and supportive, so if someone wants information, a tour, or work, those options are available, but nobody claims the place is perfect, it simply tries to help with a mix of care services and support.
