    Friendly, clean, welcoming smaller community

I moved my dad here and I'm very pleased. The staff are consistently friendly, compassionate, and attentive; the community feels clean, home-like, and well-organized with plenty of activities, good meals, and clear communication. Move-in was smooth, residents seem happy, and I'd recommend this welcoming, convenient smaller community.

    Summary of reviews

Wayman Place presents as a small, community-oriented assisted living with many strengths noted by families: a warm, home-like atmosphere, frequent activities and outings, and staff who are often described as compassionate, attentive and familiar with residents by name. The physical environment and grounds receive consistent praise for cleanliness, decorative touches such as front porches and shade trees, and well-kept common areas. Several comments highlight responsive admissions and wellness leadership, on-site therapy affiliations, and an affordable price point relative to nearby options — factors that make it appealing for families seeking a smaller, community-feel setting.

Care quality is a prominent positive for many families: reviewers describe patient, engaged caregivers, helpful wellness staff, and effective support for activities of daily living. At the same time, there is variability in staff performance and continuity. Reviews describe periods of strong, hands-on leadership as well as episodes of high turnover or staffing gaps that affect housekeeping, maintenance, and day-to-day responsiveness. This variability has been associated with delays in response to call buttons and inconsistencies in medication handling for some residents, which prospective families should clarify during a tour.

Dining and programming present a mixed picture. Many residents and families enjoy the meals, varied menu options, and social events such as barbecues, live music, Tai Chi and arts programming. However, there are also recurring comments about inconsistent food quality and kitchen staffing instability (including a chef transition), which suggests meal experience may fluctuate depending on staffing and management of the kitchen. Activities offerings are generally viewed as robust for a community of this size, with religious study, crafts, exercise classes, and outings frequently mentioned.

Operational and management themes include generally strong interpersonal staff traits but intermittent administrative weaknesses. Concerns raised include irregular housekeeping and maintenance continuity, pest-control issues in some units, billing and discount inconsistencies, and occasional lapses in orientation or communication with families. There are also notes that the community may be less suitable for persons with advanced memory impairment without enhanced perimeter security and memory-care programming. Prospective residents and families should ask about current staffing ratios, housekeeping protocols, kitchen leadership, medication administration procedures, pest-control measures, billing practices, and the approach to admissions for people with cognitive impairment to assess current performance and fit.

    About Wayman Place

Wayman Place Senior Living is a community designed for older adults who need different kinds of care, offering assisted living, memory care, independent living options, and nursing services all in one location, and the people who work there make individual care plans for every resident so each person gets what they need, whether it's daily help, medication management, or just a little support to stay independent, and the staff is there around the clock, including a full-time licensed nurse for clinical oversight. The facility has 88 bedrooms with several floor plans, including studio, deluxe studio, and two-bedroom apartments, and each apartment has its own bathroom, a kitchenette, window treatments, emergency call system, and lockable storage for personal items, while the private bedrooms come with big windows and space for things like family photos or handmade quilts. There's air conditioning, elevators, accessible layouts for wheelchairs, and WiFi throughout the building, and the property has plenty of parking for visitors plus comfortable spots outside like patios, courtyards, and seating areas among the green spaces, which is really nice for residents who like to relax or socialize outdoors. Inside, Wayman Place has community common rooms, a bistro, dining rooms for shared meals, and a movie theater room where people like to gather and watch films, a cozy library, and a resident lounge with restaurant-style dining, while the inviting lobby feels like home with its comfortable chairs and simple, stylish touch. The facility welcomes pets, encourages residents to decorate their rooms, and offers services like housekeeping, laundry, and property maintenance, so the day-to-day chores are taken care of, and there are short-term and long-term care options. There are lots of organized activities-arts and crafts, exercise classes, church services, shopping trips, lunch outings, picnics, and game nights-to help people stay active and build friendships, and seniors have access to quiet hours, conflict resolution support with roommate pairing and mediation if needed, and clearly marked boundaries for privacy in shared spaces. Staff do regular health checks and make sure everyone's safe, thanks to emergency call systems in every room. The whole place runs like a small community, with a mix of privacy and group gatherings, and everyone can join in planning group activities or even help out with community chores if they choose, which gives a good balance of independence and togetherness. Residents can eat in private dining rooms, choose to eat in the bistro, or take part in community meals, and local transportation services help make it easier for residents to get out for errands or events. The community is managed by Enlivant and tries to keep living affordable, making it a practical choice for people wanting care, comfort, and social connection in one place.
