    Caring staff, outstanding campus amenities

I toured and moved my mom here and I'm very pleased - the staff and leadership are professional, warm and genuinely caring (Janet, Peter and Trudy stood out). The campus is spotless and beautifully maintained with lakes, a pool, screened balconies and full kitchens; dining is outstanding and activities keep residents engaged and happy. On-site medical services, seamless care transitions and a supportive, social community made this the right choice for our family - I happily recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

CountrySide Lakes elicits strongly mixed but principally positive impressions: many reviewers highlight a warm, active community with a wide range of on-site services, strong dining, and engaged staff, while others raise concerns about maintenance, cleanliness, and operational consistency. The community's strengths center on an active social calendar, restaurant-style dining, comprehensive ancillary services, and a campus-like setting.

Care and staff: The facility is frequently praised for compassionate, attentive staff who create a family‑oriented atmosphere and know residents by name. Reviewers describe individualized attention, thorough nursing and therapy resources, and on-site medical conveniences that support residents who transition from independent living to assisted care. At the same time, reviewers point to variability in clinical consistency, care-plan adherence, and responsiveness — including delays or gaps in follow-up and communication — which suggests uneven performance across shifts or teams. Families considering placement should confirm current staffing patterns, clinical oversight, and communication protocols during their visit.

Dining and activities: Dining is a prominent positive: many comments reference high-quality, chef-driven meals, restaurant-style service, flexible à la carte options, and special dining events. The activity program is robust, with frequent live music, exercise classes, hobby groups, outings, and holiday/special presentations that support social engagement. Some reviewers, however, noted occasional inconsistencies in meal availability or service, and a few described variability in the frequency or breadth of activities, indicating that program offerings may change over time or with staffing levels.

Facilities and maintenance: The property’s grounds, lakes, walking trails, and pool are consistently praised and contribute strongly to resident quality of life. Units commonly include balconies or screened porches and apartment-style layouts with kitchenettes or full kitchens. Conversely, reviewers reported aging infrastructure in parts of the campus and raised concerns about deferred or low-quality interior repairs (stained carpets, dented doors, uneven thresholds, caulking issues, and rusty fixtures). There are also sanitation and odor concerns cited for some apartments and public restrooms. These observations point to uneven maintenance and housekeeping standards across the site.

Management and operations: Several reviewers described positive, professional interactions with leadership and sales staff, while others reported problems related to administrative transitions, inconsistent manager responsiveness, and customer-service tone. Pricing and affordability were recurring considerations: the community is positioned at a higher price point for some unit types, and a few visitors reported unclear or late disclosure of financial details during tours. Those evaluating the community should request current pricing, included services, and written timelines for promised repairs or service commitments.

Notable patterns and guidance: CountrySide Lakes appears well suited for prospective residents who prioritize an active lifestyle, strong social programming, on-site therapies, and high-quality dining. Prospective families should, however, perform thorough, unit-level inspections, ask for documentation on maintenance response times and staffing ratios, and confirm how clinical care plans and family communications are handled across shifts. Visiting during different times of day can help assess activity levels, noise, and housekeeping consistency. Overall, the community offers substantial lifestyle and care resources, balanced by operational areas that merit careful pre-move review.

    About CountrySide Lakes

CountrySide Lakes sits by the water on seven acres just minutes from Daytona Beach, where you see folks out fishing at the Halifax Sport Fishing Club, gathering in the Riverside Pavilion, and taking part in all sorts of activities like golf, shopping trips, or "happy" hour, and some days you'll find them volunteering, collecting teddy bears for police, or helping with the Hydrate-a-Hero project, since this place really tries to stay involved with the wider community, and there's always projects and fundraisers going on year-round. They have independent living, assisted living, and memory care here, so you'll find different care options depending on what you or your loved one needs, and if someone needs skilled nursing, that's on site, too. The staff is fully trained, friendly, and available round the clock, with people like the Director of Engagement, who's known as the "Director of Fun," making sure residents have a full schedule of social, educational, and entertainment programs that keep everybody busy and feeling at home.

You'll see that the facility has both indoor and outdoor common areas, a swimming pool and hot tub, a playground and dog park equipment, and even a boat yard or marina for anyone interested in watercraft. Wi-Fi is available everywhere, and if someone wants to bring their pet, the community is pet-friendly. Residents get a variety of dining options, with meals served every day by Chef Frank Ziegler, who has experience from both fine dining and the military, and the goal has been to serve nutritious food that keeps everybody's health in mind. For folks who want to stay active, there's a health club and fitness center, plus clinics and wellness centers if anyone needs extra care, with on-site nursing services and home health help for those who live at home.

There's also a chamber of commerce that helps with networking, and business services like accounting, tax help, and consulting, and if anybody needs help planning events or parties, that's available too. Residency can be temporary for people who need short stays, and the facility is fully accessible for those with mobility issues. People living with Alzheimer's disease or other dementias get special attention through the dedicated memory care program, which aims to give them as much comfort and safety as possible. Activities happen on and off the grounds, and devotional services and a beautician are also on site. With over 35 years of experience, CountrySide Lakes tries to offer a safe, friendly environment for seniors, where friendship, joy, gratitude, and charity are valued, and awards such as Best of Senior Living and Best Activities in Senior Living show the effort put into supporting residents is recognized by others as well.
