    Bright social community; pricey inconsistent

I moved my mom here and overall we're pleased - bright, spacious, very clean apartments with helpful, long-tenured staff who learn names, quick maintenance, lots of activities, pools, gym and convenient transportation near shopping and medical. The community is social and caring, with a cruise-ship feel and plentiful events that beat isolation. Dining and service are inconsistent (some residents praise the chef; others call the food bland, note extra charges, slow service and reduced offerings since COVID), and I've heard concerns about the memory-care areas being dark/cold and occasional housekeeping/staffing shortfalls. It's pricey and has management hiccups, but for us the friendly atmosphere, amenities and peace of mind make it worthwhile.

About Aston Gardens At Pelican Pointe

Aston Gardens At Pelican Pointe sits in Venice, Florida, where folks 55 and older can choose from independent living, assisted living, or SHINE® Memory Care, all under one roof, so if health needs change, residents don't have to move away from friends or familiar staff-they just adjust care levels as needed, and that's something many seniors like because it allows for stability and comfort. They've got several floor plans like Abbey, Bentley, Covington, Westminster, Dover, and Andover, all with one bedroom and one bathroom, and each place comes with things like in-unit washer and dryer, walk-in closets, private patios, wooden cabinets, unit-controlled thermostats, and nice touches such as wall-to-wall carpeting and window blinds, plus stylish options with quartz countertops. The Grande Clubhouse is where most of the activity happens, from meals to events, and there are covered walkways for walking outside, as well as on-site parking and a Bocce Ball Court for recreation.

Daily life at Aston Gardens At Pelican Pointe feels full, with chef-prepared meals that focus both on good taste and nutrition, a packed calendar including bingo, arts and crafts, billiards, movie nights, walking club, card games, dinner dances, themed parties, wine tastings, and outings to places like beaches and shopping centers, so residents have options if they want to stay busy or social, and there's a concierge service to help with scheduling and arranging rides. For those who need it, assistance with bathing, dressing, medication management, and other daily tasks is available, while home health and hospice resources make things easier during tough times. There's also the award-winning SHINE® Memory Care program, designed for folks with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia, offering a safe and friendly environment meant to reduce confusion and wandering.

If you bring a small pet, that's okay here, since pets are welcome, as long as they're within the rules. There's an emergency call response system in each unit, weekly housekeeping, full landscaping, and all the basic utilities like water, electricity, trash removal, and sewage are handled. Staff at Aston Gardens At Pelican Pointe keep up with a high standard of care, and the community has received awards like Best of Senior Living, and reviews mention a friendly culture where people look out for one another.

The rent starts at $2,500 per month, and the place works on private pay. They have something called the Aston Gardens Peace of Mind Rent Protection Guarantee, so there's a sense of stability for anyone worried about sudden changes. Exclusive programs, like the Military Veterans Program, are available, and folks can look through a community gallery with photos and videos to get a feel for the place. Living here means less worry about chores or maintenance, and more focus on health, activities, and connecting with others, whether that's in active independent living, an assisted suite for personal care, or in memory care with specialized support. The setting is practical and a bit elegant, with everything designed to help the body, mind, and spirit stay active and engaged.
