    Immaculate caring memory care community

I toured and chose this new, immaculate senior living and memory-care community and have been very pleased. Rooms are spacious and bright, hallways uncluttered, and staff greet residents by name - warm, professional, and knowledgeable about dementia with nurses and a nurse practitioner on site 24/7. Activities and entertainment (music in the lobby, ice cream socials, large TVs, cards, pet visits) keep residents engaged, dining is well run with a great chef, and administration communicates promptly. My family and I feel supported and relieved - I recommend this caring, well-managed place.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Liana of Venice presents as a modern, well-maintained memory-care community with many features families value. Reviewers consistently highlight a clean, bright facility with a warm, home-like decor, wide hallways and large resident rooms. The community offers a dedicated memory-care program with 24-hour nursing coverage, an on-site nurse practitioner and physicians, hospice availability, and a full activity schedule. Many families describe relief at the environment and the sense that residents are treated with dignity.

Staff and caregiving: A dominant theme is the compassion and dementia-specific training of direct-care staff. Reviewers repeatedly note caregivers who are friendly, know residents by name, and provide personalized activities. Several accounts praise the leadership and clinical staff for being approachable and communicative. At the same time, there is variability in staffing continuity: while some families cite stable, low-turnover teams, others report fluctuations that appear to affect consistency of care. There are also isolated concerns about staff conduct and supervisory oversight that prospective families should explore during a tour.

Clinical quality and safety: Many reviewers commend the clinical resources on site, but a subset describe serious clinical events—including hospital-level illnesses, pressure injuries, respiratory infections, and falls—that point to gaps in wound prevention, acute monitoring, and medication oversight. The presence of these outcome-level concerns suggests the need for careful inquiry into the facility’s skin-integrity protocols, fall-prevention procedures, frequency of nursing assessments, and medication-review practices, particularly for residents with dementia who are more vulnerable to adverse effects.

Dining and activities: Dining and programming are frequently cited as strengths. The community’s chef and planned menu receive positive remarks, and activities range from card games and music to pet visits, visiting entertainers, and social events like ice-cream socials. Several families note active engagement and effective family communication via social media and photos. However, there are mentions of inconsistent food quality and limited weekend activities in some accounts, so clarification about menu consistency and weekend programming is advisable.

Facilities and amenities: The facility’s new construction, cleanliness, and thoughtful design are repeatedly praised; reviewers note no-clutter hallways, good lighting, and pleasant common areas. Maintenance staff are described as friendly and responsive. A common limitation cited is the relative lack of landscaped outdoor space—courtyards are described as largely concrete without much greenery—so outdoor access and gardening opportunities may be limited.

Management and patterns to watch: Admissions and communication are often described as smooth and prompt, with staff going above and beyond during tours and move-in. That said, several reviews raise concerns about inconsistent management oversight, restrictive visitation practices during early admission periods, and operational choices that some families perceive as prioritizing logistics or finances over individualized care. Given the mix of strongly positive caregiver experiences and isolated but significant clinical concerns, prospective families should request detailed information on staff-to-resident ratios, turnover statistics, nursing assessment schedules, skin-integrity and fall-prevention protocols, medication-review policies (including use of higher-risk agents in dementia), and visitation rules. Touring during different times of day and speaking with both clinical leadership and current family members can help clarify how consistently the facility’s strengths are delivered.

    About Liana of Venice

Liana of Venice | Dementia Care in Venice is a family-owned memory care community serving seniors with Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, or other forms of dementia, and the place was set up with safe, comfortable spaces meant to help residents feel calm and secure, so you'll see wide hallways, natural light everywhere, scenic courtyards, spacious walking paths, a spa, a lounge, and even a library. The community uses programs like Moments Matter® and DistinctiveDining™ to offer 1-on-1, personalized care and dining that centers around each person's needs, interests, and past experiences, which seems to help bring a sense of dignity and comfort to a group that can feel lost in bigger crowds, and the staff at Liana of Venice get special training in dementia care, meaning the caregivers know how to guide, reassure, and help those who wander or get confused. Meals are nutritious, made with good ingredients, and served in a restaurant-style dining room with options for special diets or festive occasions, and the culinary staff works hard to notice each resident's needs and favorite foods, which makes meals a time to look forward to, rather than just another task in the day. The Life Engagement program keeps folks busy with activities like arts and crafts, seated basketball, pet visits, walking clubs, and music, plus they do daily events like chair yoga or cooking demos, always aiming to stir up old memories and keep minds active, and the whole place is set up to build real connections between staff and residents, so people feel part of a small, caring group. There's help with bathing, dressing, and medicines, of course, as well as 24/7 supervision from trained staff and on-site nurses, and health services include podiatry, geriatric care, in-house physical exams, and some professional wellness programs. Respite care is available for short stays, so families can get a break, and there's support and education to help them understand the journey ahead, because moving a loved one into memory care is always a big step and it's not easy. Liana of Venice has won awards for its personal approach, thoughtful programs, and friendly staff, and they invite families to take a tour to see what daily life is like, as well as the warmth between residents and caregivers. Pets are welcome, the place has high-speed internet, and there are secure spaces for gathering with family, all designed to make life less stressful and more joyful, emphasizing independence whenever possible, reducing anxiety, and aiming always to treat each resident as an individual, not a number.
