    Excellent post-hospital rehab and care

I placed my mom here for post-hospital rehab and have been very pleased - caring, professional staff (special thanks to Joyceann and Angie), excellent PT/OT and a strong Bounce Back program. The campus is elegant, immaculately clean, home-like and easy to navigate, with spacious sunlit apartments, safety features, salon, weekly doctor visits, laundry/housekeeping, and flexible dining with menu choices and generous portions. Activities, outings, and warm social interactions kept her engaged and made me feel confident and at ease with her care.

    Summary of reviews

Liberty Village of Marion presents as a well-appointed, largely home-like senior living campus with many physical strengths. Multiple reviewers describe a clean, well-maintained building, spacious apartments with ample natural light, safety features such as pull cords and handrails, and options for bringing personal furniture and using private patios. The dining venue is frequently praised as restaurant-like with menu-based choices and flexible dining locations; weekly housekeeping and optional laundry service are also noted as convenience features. The facility includes an extensive therapy center, 24-hour nursing coverage, and onsite amenities such as a salon and organized religious services.

Care and staff receive mixed but often positive feedback. Numerous comments highlight compassionate direct-care staff, helpful aides, and strong therapists — several families specifically cited good outcomes from the Bounce Back and other post-hospital rehabilitation programs. At the same time, a recurring theme is inconsistency: staffing shortages and turnover are described as producing long wait times for assistance and variability in day-to-day responsiveness. Some reviewers expressed concerns about the tone of staff communication and about how clinical issues and family notifications are handled during incidents.

Dining and activities are generally seen as strengths, with menu customization, social dining spaces, frequent activities (arts and crafts, bingo, outings), and sizable portions sometimes mentioned. However, reviewers also describe uneven meal quality and slow meal service at times. The therapy program is large and well-equipped, and many families found rehabilitation effective, while others experienced less benefit — suggesting outcomes may depend on the individual clinical situation and on staffing continuity.

Operational and management patterns emerged as a mixed area. Positive accounts point to quick maintenance, a tidy environment, and attentive employees; negative accounts cite administrative and billing disputes, inconsistent laundry and personal-belongings management, and sanitation concerns in some resident rooms and portable equipment. A number of reviews also raised concerns about how infection-control or quarantine procedures were implemented and how those procedures affected routine care and resident access to services.

Overall, Liberty Village appears to offer strong physical amenities, a robust therapy program, and many staff who provide compassionate care. The most important patterns for prospective residents and families to explore in person are staffing levels and turnover, protocols for clinical incident response and family communication, laundry and belongings handling, and day-to-day meal-service timing and quality. Observing mealtime, speaking with nursing and administrative leadership about infection-control and quarantine procedures, and asking for recent staffing and quality metrics would help clarify whether the facility’s operational practices align with an individual resident’s needs.
